"Dr. Kirshner is a physician of action. At my first consultation and exam, I requested a tour of the cardiac unit at Rochester General Hospital where he operates -- within minutes, one of his staff guided me through the unit explaining various aspects of how it functions. I was completely impressed with the hospital and its credentials and reputation, being a satellite hospital of the Cleveland Clinic. Within a week, I had open heart surgery and my diseased bicuspid aortic valve replaced with a bovine tissue valve. Dr. Kirshner is the head physician at RGH and with good reason - he is highly skilled and runs a very tight ship. He is all about performing his surgeries to perfection and has extremely high expectations of all of his staff. I would highly recommend him and his team at Rochester General Hospital if you want the best that this area of New York has to offer."

"He is very skilled and gives you a feeling of confidence with a team who has worked together for 15 yrs. Uses a lot of PA and NPR's for post surgery rounds. Saw him only once after surgery. Do your research ahead of time so you come with lots of questions. He will give you all the info you want but you need to know what to ask. Rochester General Hospital gets very high marks as they are a certified "100 Top Heart Hospital" . Care by staff excellent in both CTICU and on cardiac surgery floor. Very meticulous about protecting you from infection. Try very hard to make you as comfortable as possible and to meet your needs."

"My experience with Dr. Kirschner was very positive. He replaced my bi-cuspid aortic valve with a Edward Lifesciences Bovine tissue valve and there were absolutely no complications. I was back to workk in less than 4 weeks and I felt the physical improvements immediately. I would highly recommend Dr. Kirshner if you are in need of a AVR."
