"Thinking back, this feels like a dream, unreal. Dr. Bowdish and his team made this happen too easy and simple. And, he didn't give any pressures or worries.

I did so much research myself. I researched his reputation, the procedure outcomes, and I talked to many people who had this done before. I prepared for 45 days mentally and physically before I went to the procedure. Dr. Bowdish and his team gave myself and my family the confidence that this was his routine. And I felt there was nothing to be afraid of. It was easier than my appendicitis removed around May 2025.

Dr. Bowdish was my second opinion. My first doctor made me feel like a nightmare. I woke up every day at night, 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning. Sometimes no sleep thinking about it. A few times, when I talked to my friends about my illness, which was Ascending Aorta Aneurysm and Aorta Root Replacement, I literally went to panic attack. I felt my heart was going to explode and needed to call 911.

But after I consulted Dr. Bowdish, in 3 days I could sleep. His nurse practitioner, Marion, was so responsive. I could get a hold at her any time when I felt discomfort, couldn't breathe, pressure on my chest. She very patiently and kindly explained, that was not your Aorta, and your Aorta is not going to explode. Cause my other doctor, told me if your Aorta exploded it only took 30 seconds will be gone and only God can safe you.

4 days after I met Dr. Bowdish, and I decided go for the procedure, and my AAA was 43mm but my Aorta Root was 51mm. And like I said: till these days I felt like a dream, yes, I was pain in the ICU and PACU/SDC, but those all my muscles pains and nothing related to the surgical portions.

I got released on the morning of the 4th, and was able to sleep on my left or right shoulders. The only pain killer I took was the 1000mg Tylenol for the first 2 days at home. And that's it.

Doctor Bowdish gave me peace of mind. "

"After hearing that my aortic aneurysm had grown from 4.9 to 5.0cm, we started our search for a cardiac surgeon who was familiar with my problem at my age, 80.

We were advised by a cardiologist, friend, to find a doctor who had done many of these surgeries and with great patient reviews. After much prayer, we found Dr. Bowdish and made an appointment to see him. The whole process was well received from meeting him to meeting his nurse practitioner, Marion McRae.

They gave us great advice after listening to my medical heart problem. Our first contact person was Brenda, who helped me set up the initial appointment with Dr. Bowdish. She also took care of all the paperwork and made everything run smoothly, for which I am grateful.

We discussed the pros and cons of open heart surgery before our final decision. We chose Dr. Bowdish to do the surgery. It took about one month to have all the tests done and then I went into surgery at Cedars Sinai Hospital. From the first visit to the final post-op, everything went well.

I was treated kindly by all the Doctor's staff and the hospital. We would highly recommend Dr. Bowdish. He has great bedside manner and I feel confident I had the best care. I am now on my road to recovery. If you are needing a good cardiac surgeon, we highly recommend Dr. Bowdish and the Cedars Sinai team."
