"Dr Kauten was excellent in all respects and he took on a very difficult surgery, that took most of his day and early evening. My cardiologist Dr Dhruva was instrumental in getting Dr Kauten to do the surgery! I hope never have the need for heart surgery again, but Dr Kauten would definately be our first and second choice. "I met with Dr. Kauten prior to surgery date. He provided a complete review of the process, what I could expect immediately after and during the recovery period, and answered all questions, to include his extensive experience and the fact that "he has seen my valve, while a difficult one, before" and assured me of success. It is now 5 weeks after surgery, and outcomes testing and pictures of the valve show an outstanding level of success. I feel great. "

"Dr. Kauten was excellent. He was very informative and detailed in explaining what was going on, the cause, the procedure, etc. He spoke in terms I could understand. He would draw pictures to give me a visual of what he was stating and he spent whatever time I needed to get my questions and concerns answered. His bedside manner was friendly, confident, and patient.

Dr. Kauten has a plan for recovery and he details that plan to make sure it is understood, the importance of the plan and the success of following that plan. He has a strong educational background including solid tenure and competency (since 1984), He specializes in valve repair/replacement, etc.and has a high success rate. In researching him before surgery I could not find anything negative concerning him. I would recommend him to anyone with no reservation and would have him as my surgeon if I were to have heart issues again. "
