"Dr. Hon Lee is chief cardiovascular surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara. His bedside manner is calm and pleasant. He is well trained, knowledgeable, and experienced. He was able to repair a mitral valve that had ruptured. The repair lasted seven years which gave me that many more years with my own valve. That said, he did not use the cox maze procedure for the afib that resulted from the rupture. He did try shock and the mini-maze with no luck. He cut out the aortic appendage where many clots begin. I have since had a valve replacement with a tissue valve from another surgeon. I wish I had had Dr. Lee do the second operation, too."

"Dr. Lee, at the first meeting, fully explained the procedure that was to occur. He was reassuring and calm and answered all questions. Since my valve had chordae which had detached and the flap was flapping, there was a chance the valve could not be fixed, but Dr. Lee did repair it. I was disappointed, though, that after the operation I was still in chronic atrial fibrillation. I had been given shock treatment and the mini maze, but not the Cox Maze procedure. Other than that, all went well and Dr. Lee was very attentive. "

"Dr Hon Lee was excellent as well as the whole team I am so thankful for the great job they did. On a a scale of 1 to 10, I rate the whole experience a 10. I was driving 8 days after surgery and working in 14 days. Also thank you Adam for the book and the blog. "
