"My surgeon, Dr Donald Gibson, was amazing. In my consultation he was very calm, answered all my questions with great wisdom and patience, and was very kind. Dr Gibson never acted as if he was in a hurry. He gave me all the time I needed. He came out and visited with my family before, during, and after my open heart surgery. Assured them everything was going according to schedule and according to plans. Post surgery Dr Gibson came by everyday to check on me - sometimes in the morning and at night!! He told me I was very, very sick when I finally came in for surgery and to be patient with my body and let it heal. He was very pleased with the procedures he did and said I would have a much more comfortable and safe quality of life now. He did one extra procedure that I didn’t see in the choice options above. He put a clip on an appendage to lessen my chances of having a stroke by 90%! I appreciated his thinking beyond what he initially decided needed to be done. Dr Gibson was always very professional but had a very soft and kind tone of voice with me. He is so extremely knowledgeable- I feel like he thought of everything!! What a highly intelligent surgeon with a wonderful and warm bedside manner!! A genuine smile that always let me know things would be okay! I highly recommend Dr Gibson as a heart surgeon who practices at the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Hospital."
