2 Patient Reviews for
Dr. Pawale

"Dr. Pawale saved my life and my wife’s. We both had open heart surgeries within weeks of one another. Dr. Pawale is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate patient care -- I appreciate how patient, professional, caring, and friendly he was during my stay.

The concept of doing what it takes to meet the needs of his patients is at his very core. Whether it was taking initiative to coordinate a call with my family to clarify medical details that would ultimately lead to putting my mind at ease, or printing off and discussing material regarding my medical condition so I could educate myself, Dr. Pawale was an integral part of establishing my health recovery journey.

Dr. Pawale is an amazing surgeon; one in a million!"

"Dr. Pawale was referred to me by my sister-in-law. I didn’t really have symptoms and my condition was discovered accidentally in a CT Scan done at AMITA. I found out that I had an ascending aortic aneurism of about 6.3 centimeters, and a bicuspid aortic valve which needed replacement right away as well.

Needless to say, I was mortified. But I had to come down to reality fast and get this fixed. When I first saw Dr. Pawale he quickly put me at ease and told me exactly what needed to be done and how he would do it. He answered all of my questions about the aortic repair and valve replacement surgery. I also soon learned that Northwestern Medicine has a program just devoted to the Bicuspid valve because it so often involves relatives as well. I scheduled the surgery and everything turned out fine. I am in the rehabilitation stage now. All throughout my post surgery Dr. Pawale, a most excellent heart surgeon, was there at my side. It is hard for Dr. Pawale to take credit for the truly excellent job that he did in my case. Most of his concern was to thank me for getting better and to stress that successful heart surgery is a result of teamwork.

The teamwork philosophy is one of the hallmarks of medical care at NWMH. Dr. Pawale is a highly skilled and highly intelligent cardiac surgeon who is a great asset to Northwestern Medicine and I am proud to call him my physician."
