"I had been sent to Baptist East's ER from an urgent care because of chest pain. The staff ran me through multiple tests to find the root problem, during which time by chest pain had subsided.

After a short CAT scan, I was moved back to my ER room, soon to be met by Dr. Khan. He was calm and collected as he explained my aortic dissection and the severity of the problem. He was also thorough in explaining the need for emergency surgery and what the procedure would entail. It was because of his bedside manner and calm demeanor that my jaw didn't hit the floor. When he finished explaining everything, I was actually mentally prepared and ready for surgery (even though my odds didn't look great).

After a long and successful surgery, Dr. Khan made multiple trips to visit me in my hospital room. He was very kind, happy to answer every question I had, and made me feel at ease about my future after this incident. I always appreciated him taking the extra effort to come see me in person.

After I was released from the hospital, Dr. Khan helped me navigate recovery by giving detailed instructions and precautions for the first month after surgery. I always felt like I could reach out to him with any issues that came up, even though life after surgery went smoothly. I always appreciated that I was comfortable asking him anything.

Now that I'm three months post-op, I'm actually kind of bummed I won't see him as often. I'm thankful for Dr. Khan's capable hands, his optimistic and calm manner with me, and how comfortable I feel talking with him about the future of my recovery. It was truly a pleasure to have him as a surgeon, and I couldn't be happier with the results."
