Dear Sophie and Geoff-
Yay! Your surgery is over and a success! So happy for you :)
I will be praying for you today, especially, so that you will get past this rough part of your recovery. Hang in there and you will probably start to feel better in the next few days and take off from there. Love, Jean Trausch (one week post AVR & feeling great!)

You are in my thoughts and prayers. You are honestly one of the bravest and strongest person I know. You have strengthened my faith and have brought me close to God. You have taught me to put my complete faith and trust in God which is why I truly believe that he will be right by your side and the surgeon's side tomorrow morning. <3 I love you so much and can't wait till you recover!
This is Jean Trausch. I just had my surgery last Tuesday. By the time the morning of surgery came around, I was ready to get it done and not too nervous or emotional, Whatever emotions you have, just remember that you'll be "fixed" in a matter of hours!
Tues. night thru Thurs. morning were rough due to nausea from meds, but once they straightened that out, I have been constantly improving and getting stronger. When it was rough, I just did what they told me to so that I would get better and it worked!
You will do great! I will be praying for you tomorrow and watching this week to see how you are progressing. God speed to you and your family. Love, Jean
I only just learned of your situation! You have so much love and support around you! You will be in my thoughts and I wish you an easy time of it as well as a speedy recovery! You are so strong, and will be fine!! My love and support to you, the girls, and Jeff.
We're thinking of you! Sounds like you're in the best of hands. Stay tough & know that you're in our thoughts and prayers! Looking forward to the fast recovery & seeing you soon!

Have been thinking a lot about you and Kim and Brian have kept me posted. Katie gave me this website of your journal ... what a great idea. Well, you seem to have a wealth of family and friends praying for you and wishing you well: please add Dom and I to that list. You're young and strong and I know you will do well. Have a good anesthesia nap ... as you drift off to sleep fly to your favorite place. No worries ..you'll do great. Love to you and g,a,a.

It is hard to believe that we live so close to each other and yet see each other so infrequently. In spite of the time that goes by or the birthdays that pass we have always considered you a dear friend. As such we have been thinking about you lately and wondering how things were going. This journal is great way to stay connected and a big thanks for sharing it with us. We will be tracking your progress and wish you the best on your upcoming surgery. The thoughts and prayers of our family will be with you and your family over the upcoming days. We are looking forward to tracking your speedy recovering!
Diane, Karen and I are praying for you. We know everything will be O.K. and you will be able to spend the rest of your long life without medical worries. Our best to your entire family, especially my "We the People" star. We are thinking of you all.
sophie I to also live in Ct and had the surgery a month ago. Where is Mt. Sinai???? Not in ct I presume. I went to Brigham's & women's Hospital in Boston and it was the best decision I made. I will keep you in my prayers.
Your in good hands in Dr. Adams, I'm almost 10 weeks post op from there and doing well. A good team of nurses and doctors there as well. If I can be of any help, places to stay, eat, etc feel free to email me firstname.lastname@example.org. My family came to enjoy eating at Tre Otto, Fox and Hound while I enjoyed the hospital food (the worst part of the stay for me)
As has been said you will be on the other side before you know it. I'll keep you in prayer.
Hi, Sophie --
I'm another former regurgitator. I had my mitral and tricuspid valves repaired by Dr. Adams and his team back in May and am doing great! If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. You'll be on the other side of this before you know it.
Sounds like you made a fun family day in NYC today. Praying dear sister you will continually trust in the LORD with all your heart. and with your heart.
And know your sisters and brothers are lifting you to the Throne of Grace.
You are a thoroughly beautiful person and we feel blessed that you are our friend. If there is anything we can do for you or your family, please know that you can depend on us. You are in our thoughts and prayers, and we wish you the very best!
This journal is great! Just want to encourage you with God's word: Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? " and I Corinthians 2:9 "...Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the Heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." Love in Christ-The Patten family
You know Uncle Harry and I have you in out thoughts and prayers.
I love 'your story'...my eyes are leaking due to the words you put onto paper...although I've only been in the family a short time there are many wonderful memories with you Dad and also with the rest of the family.
Blessings to you, Geoff, and the girls. We're here if you or they need anything.
Peg and Uncle Harry
Hey Beautiful! A few more days and your heart valve issues will be resolved. As nerve wracking as it is it's also a huge blessing. Sophie, God has had his hand on you this whole time, leading you to the right doctors and surgical team. You are going to heal quickly and be a walking testimony to all going through a similiar journey. I love you and am praying for you. God Bless,.Karen
Sophie, It seemed like it was just a few days ago when Dennis originally told me of your surgery. At that time I did not know the finalized date. I am sure the wait for you has been long. Things like this seem surreal until you finally admit, "Yep, here it comes". God seems to give us the hardest things to deal with sometimes. Dennis' mother, Grandma Floss, told me once that God only gave you those things that he knew you could handle. With your faith and your wonderful husband and girls, you have what is needed to handle this. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.
Kick butt, girl!!!!
I am a 48 year old woman who led a very active lifestyle until several months ago. I have a condition very similar to yours and I am having surgery on March 20. Best of luck to you, I know everything will turn out great. Please keep us updated on your progress and feel free to read my journal entries.
You were there for me during my health issues in 2011. I will be there for you and your family! No matter what you need, please know you can count on us! We love you and know you will come out of this stronger than ever. Thoughts and prayers are with you ALWAYS. WE LOVE YOU! The Rumm's
Just wanted you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We had good intentions of calling you over Christmas as we were at Heather and Craigs, but the time just got away. Bless you Sophie on your up-coming surgury. We will keep in touch. Hugs from across the miles. The Longchamps
