To Lawson, Rachel, Vicki and Rachel's mum dad and family, and all those worried and praying for Rachel.
I thought I would sign in again because reading the daily blog and guest book makes me feel I should be doing more, but all I can do is sit and wait, worry and watch and last of all hope and pray.
I find solice in a writing by Pope John XXXIII who states...
Consult not your fears but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do.
I send you all my love and more, keep strong in the belief that Rachel will be fine and move on from this stronger and happier.

Before I had my OHS, my cardiologist shared with me how he deals with the gravity of his job. He deeply cares for all his patients and the toll it was taking on him in the early years was difficult. However, over time, he came realize that her was not really in control. The patients were in God's hands and control before they ever got to his office.
He shared this with me because he saw that I was overly intent on checking out very option of valve, surgeon and procedure. The message I took away is the same one that applies to Rachel. She was in God's hands and under his direction from the minute she found out she needed the surgery. It is our fervent hope that God returns her to us soon, whole and healed.

This message for Rachel's Guestbook is from Tindall and Heather Leefe (Lawson's paternal grandparents).
Martin rang us on Thursday morning to tell us of Rachel's situation; and then yesterday our other son, Simon, helped me set up my laptop by remote control over the phone (we live in Wales), so we could join in with the many others to add our own message of support and love. (Tindall has not yet really come to terms with the laptop. He says:"Why can't we keep things simple? Everything electronic seems to be prone to problems, and there are so many ways in which they can go wrong!")
Reading through the most recent pages of messages, we were touched to find how many people, both from around the world and closer to home, are praying for, and generally showing loving concern both for Rachel and Lawson, and for Rachel's family.
It was good of you, Lawson, to make time to talk with us both last night, to explain the medical situation, and to share your own thoughts and feelings.
Although we haven't met Rachel's family, our thoughts and prayers include all of you.
From our own experiences with two friends at different times, we have found that patients who are seemingly unconscious do 'hear' at some deep level when you talk to them, so holding Rachel's hand or hugging and talking to her, will have helped, as Susan Smith wrote in one of her messages.
We mentioned when we spoke with you last night, Lawson, that I (Grandma) was greatly comforted when Uncle Simon sent me this Bible message just before Grandpa underwent his quadruple heart bypass operation six years ago:"The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. I (Grandma) would add that our loving Father-Mother, God, holds all of us safe and secure in that life.
We were thinking of you and praying for you during the time of Rachel's operation, and are continuing to do so..
We look forward to being kept updated via Guestbook messages.
Much love to you all from Grandpa/Tindall and Grandma/Heather.
