Agree 100% with your post. Wearing a bra 24/7 is key for my healing. My scar, like yours is still a red line. It also is itchy. I think I'm going to skip using that dial soap and switch to Dove now. My surgery was December 28th. I wish you continued recovery and good health. Janis Kielbasa
Hey Patrice, I was also given an On-X valve for my aortic stenosis. My surgery was Feb. 6th and I am feeling great. Glad to here that you are back at work and getting into a routine. I am glad we have HVJ friends to keep our spirits up with prayer and confidence knowing we are not alone. Continued prayer for your recovery.
Hi Patrice, good to hear you are progressing well. Thanks for the bra tip...I found one at Rite Aid. Still waiting on my surgery, March 13th, made hotel reservations for my daughter today, she will be going with me to Cleveland. I have to be there for pre-op testing on Friday, then meet team on Monday and surgery on Tuesday. That means approximately 12 days in Cleveland since 5 days will be prior to surgery.
I look forward to hearing (as Paul Harvey would say) the rest of the story.
Still waiting...Linda Dixon
I'm 5 weeks post op and each week gets better. I agree, the toilet riser was a life saver week 1 thru 3 for me. I no longer need it. HSN.com, Rhonda Shear has great bras. They are called the ahhh bra and it works for larger breasts,DD, no bind, no hooks. I tried all the ones out there and this is the best. Continued good luck and recovery to you!!
Hi. Your tips were - are so helpful. Not sure about the toilet riser but I'll check. :). I'm going in feb 9 for Avr. Mid 60/ s & in good Heath. Heart is goo they sy & im very active. So hoping we move thu this & straight to recovery
If there are any other special tips you can throw out please do. Thx.
Glad u are doing so well. Stay that way. ,

Good for you for starting from the beginning, even if it seems like history. I had mitral valve repair In June but didn't find this site until November. I had been feeling depressed and isolated for months, with no one to talk to, and this site has helped me more than anything. I have toyed with the idea of writing a retrospective journal as therapy. I'll see how yours goes as I still have some "issues" to work through. Keep posting!
