Carla, Emilyrae again - could would you please comment on the doctor's recommendation that you exercise and that you push it. Is this suppose to be good to lower your pulmonary pressure. Would appreciate your sharing. Thanks
Emilyrae Helfen
Carla, Emilyrae here. I don't think I read what your plumonary pressure was at for the right heart cath. The TEE sounded ok 38 to 44 I will take anytime, bcause the normal is 35. I also have been told that echo's are pretty general and certainly not as good as the TEE or the Right Heart Cath.
If I remember correctly yours was normal right after surgery but a year later jumped up to 58. Mine jumped up in the 14 months prior to my surgery Jan 2010 it was 35 and March 2011 it was 58 - of course my Mitral valve regurg had gotten worse. I was so hoping it was going down after surgery but 2 months after surgery it is still 58 (on an echo) I am now in cardiac rehab. I was very inteested in your doctor telling you to exercise regularlly and to push it. Did he tell you this could help the pulmonary pressure? Or what does spikes in your blood pressure have to do with it, if any? My BP has never been a problem - low 100/60 or 96/54 - those kind of reading.Know I am full of questions, but not many on here are concerned with the pulmonary pressure problem. Most don't even know the significant of PA on the heart. Thanks CarlaEmilyraeI . Helfn
