Yep! Ronny Turiaf From The Lakers Had Heart Surgery!
Considering the NBA Championship Playoffs between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are on television right now, lots of emails have been coming in lately about Ronny Turiaf, the power forward for the Lakers.
It is true. Ronny Turiaf did have heart surgery.

It is also true that Ronny Turiaf was back on the court playing professional basketball less than one year after his heart surgery. To learn more about Turiaf’s aortic root replacement surgery, click this link about Ronny Turiaf’s heart operation.
Finally, you should know that Ronny Turiaf is not the only athlete to have heart surgery and then return to play at the professional level. Recently, Teppo Numminen, from the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, had heart valve repair. Six months later, Teppo returned to the ice.
My point… Heart valve surgery is not a curse. Valve surgery is a medical miracle - even if you are not a professional athlete.
