It is 10:00 p.m. and time for bed here in California. I am thinking of the two of you across the miles as well as imagining all of the fine people of our community who have also continued to post daily and nightly posts to you both offering their love and support. (I am envisioning all of us tucked up under covers and laying on soft pillows and praying and thinking of the two of you and it is a pleasant thought. Eyelids are getting heavy and Hunter is whining to go outside with Kat one more time tonight so I will do that one more thing before going to bed.
It was good to read your post about your current ability to communicate and I am
hoping the tracheotomy gets done soon as I believe that will be a great change for Robin. David. I believe that when Robyn gets a chance to see how wonderful you have been and how many posts she has from our community and elsewhere one day that her spirits will lift and she will drink in all of the love that is pouring in all around her and this will only help her heal up and get home..... So rest well you two.

Mary Myers posted a note for Robyn that says: David and Robyn, So happy to hear that each day there is improvement. I am a preschool/childcare teacher, may I suggest you sing some nursery rhymes, row,row,row your boat, mary had a little lamb, twinkle, twinkle,twinkle little star, etc.
I did this when my mother in.law was in rehab, she had (oldtimers) thats what I call it. Couldnot remember a thing. She would start singing the songs when I sang. As Robyn continues the awake process, maybe try reading childrens book, pictures of family. Just a few tidbits that may help.

It is good news to read that Robyn is moving more and you can bet that with all that she is going through she is hearing every word, doing all that she can to find her way back to you.
With all of the meds and ways they are fighting infection I can only imagine how difficult it is for her body to let her "swim" to the surface and find you but I would like to think of the angels we all imagine, surrounding her and taking their time to
lift her towards that wakeful moment that we all pray for. I am happy to learn that your Sister is there with you and can imagine the added familiar voice to yours is just one more thing that will help her waken and find her voice. There are so many people who have been and continue to be with you in spirit and in prayers for her

Nurse Rose is an "Angel" for taking such good care as well. Getting her hair washed and her "Asian Spa Treatment" will go a long way into Robyn's mental attitude come Monday morning as it is such a great feeling to feel your hair clean while time continues to heal her body and soul! Hope your time at home and return is giving you a chance to gain your own strength and nourishment. Calm, healing and strength are my wishes for you both today as Monday is not far off. I know this whole community shares appreciation for how exceptionally well you're providing each and everything Robyn needs and how your love for each other is a continued source of strength. I am up this morning in California, Hunter asleep at my feet keeping them toasty warm. I have an early morning cup of coffee and it is only 2:52 a.m. but I have been
up since 2:00. Gary is already in the shower and the steam is whirling it's way through the hallway from the bathroom door and is hitting the room with a welcome moisture!
Your post about the plans and progress with/for Robyn today make me hopeful that this is another continuance of a steady stream of faith, goodwill and soon
medical miracles that will hopefully find you and Robyn one step closer to the recovery phase of your lives together. Technology today is awesome!
Sweet.....picturing the two of you watching and listening to the t.v. together but the first thought is the sound of the opening start of the movie jaws! Da da da da da da da da da da da da! If that doesn't get both sides of the heart beating, I mean it sends my heart racing with the music and visualization. Ha! JAWS! You really made me laugh this morning with that choice of entertainment but I really get a kick out of how the two of you are facing this time in your lives. Totally TOGETHER! This is time you will look back on after all is said and done with such unity, so much love.
You both were the last thing I thought of before I hit the sack last night and the first thing I thought of this morning because your story, as it unfolds is such a perfect example of what love is all about. It IS a love story! I am so glad that the both of you have such love for one another as it brings so much strength to face the day and what this day will accomplish in getting Robyn well and back home!. David, what you are doing and how you are handling all of this is giving an added source of confidence I am sure to her surgeon and the team of people involved in accomplishing today's goal.

So know how much energy and how many prayers are following you both today.
Please tell Robyn that a lot of love is circling above her and prayers are blanketing her as well for as long as it takes to get her home and continued healing!

It was good to get online and check up on you two first thing. You are right about one special thing! Rest, taking time to allow the body to do "it's own thing" in the "Healing" makes perfect sense as things progress for you and Robyn. Rest is one thing the body needs to repair itself from the aggravation it withstands from all that is done to it both during surgery and afterwards. I am sure the heart is growing stronger with every beat and that Robyn's heart will be the better for what is taking place today. Having you with her, near and hearing your voice is the best medicine she can have. David. I can't tell you how touched this heart is, of mine. Still recovering inside this body, sitting here at the computer and reading about Robyn, and all that everyone is doing to protect and keep her safe as they do their jobs to get her back to you and ready to start her recovery. The way you have shared your experiences and feelings from the beginning is touching hearts everywhere and helping many people who are going in learn more about what happens while their loved one is going through the process. You have demonstrated your love for your wife, patience and willingness to take this situation you both have been handed with better than anyone I know of and I would say beyond words but....but... that obviously isn't the case! So take good care of our heart sister and let her know we are all still thinking of her and sending air hugs and prayers until and after you are headed home again! I am greatly sorry that you both are having to deal with so much but knowing that the Medical Team and personnel are on top of things must be a great help to you at this time. I get the feeling that you also are on top of things as well and your love for each other and your continued awareness of what is going on is going to keep you both staying strong and gaining strength as you face each of these challenges. I don't personally know many people in our community who have had to face these types of challenges but know any who have will step up to
help you as things progress for as you know none of us knows what to expect as we enter into our surgeries and it is hard making plans for the unexpected. You seem to be making the best of it and I hope if you need anything you will step up and ask for we will do all we can to be there for you. Terrie Syvertsen posted a note for Robyn that says: Good morning Robyn and David- It was good having an update to read today and very encouraging. Hope there was a chance for some sleep for you both. Are you getting something to eat in between this? You need to keep up your strength too, (maybe in between Robyn's snoring you can snag a nearby jello or pudding for yourself!) That is what my husband did while waiting for me to wake up! By the way, I would look at the snoring as her being aware that you are there and watching over her.......Too bad I couldn't lend you Gary(my husband) as the whole
time at the hospital he was able to sit beside me sawing logs with me when I got the
chance to sleep in between the nurses coming and going! By the way, don't worry about reading or responding to us here at the community as we are delighted you have found the time to update us with the progress reports on how you both are doing and there will be plenty of time during recovery to continue on. Just know that we love you both and will continue to let you and her know our many, united Hearts(In all shapes and conditions) are following and focused on our Heart Sister Robyn and YOU) our Honorary Heart Brother(because your heart is immense!) as you continue this part of the "Journey". Many, many prayers and well wishes from all over this world are being sent to you 'round the clock. Keep talking to her and giving her warm touches too! It was also great that you candied up the nurses too as Gary(my husband) did the same while I was in Hospital. (He went to See's candy store as it was near the hospital where I had my surgery done and bought boxed suckers and you could see suckers at every nurses station, in the mouths of visiting surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, etc. They love being appreciated and well they should be as they are aware of how wonderful you care for your wife and are probably as touched seeing the two of you together as we all were at your descriptions of your making her aware of you at her side! David...You are doing everything you can, everything Robyn needs and she will be deeply touched and love you all the more when able to read all of your written words one of these days as she is home recovering!

I talked with Robyn right after she had taken her magical, miracle, medicinal soap bath the night before surgery! I want you to know as brief as our conversation was it was apparent that Her Love for you and Your Love for Her was the "Core" of her Strength heading in to this surgery and I believe with all of my heart that every word spoken, every gentle touch, and every thought you share to encourage her will be her greatest "gift" in getting her thru what lies ahead and is at the center of her ability to gather her strength to bounce back to a recovery stage and help every cell in her body fight to get back to you. You have touched many a mended heart as well as given a loving message to those heart brothers and sisters preparing for their surgeries. We appreciate the updates and please whisper in her ear that it is worth the fight to keep up positive thoughts and visualize all the life that lies ahead once things turn around so that she can begin her recovery. I know she can do this and I am looking forward to hearing her stories and getting to know her better.
