Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Replacement Video
Hi there,
It’s amazing how quick the science and technology of heart valve surgery changes. In just a few years, the use minimally invasive procedures for heart surgery has really gained acceptance. While not suitable for all patient conditions, the use of robotic and transcatheter procedures is exciting given the patient benefits.
FYI, I did not have a noninvasive heart surgery. Nope. I had to have a good ole’ sternum cracking!
Anyways, here is an interesting patient success story for aortic valve replacement surgery using noninvasive heart surgery. John Doss is a 56 year old patient suffering from aortic stenosis. Dr. Ali Kafi, from Harper University Hospital at Detroit Medical Center, is the lead cardiac surgeon in the heart valve video.
