tina fluhrer That is fast. This is a blessing because my brother had his date for 6 months or more and knew surgery was 100% for a year. The waiting is the hardest. But now you cram in all the thoughts into a few days. It is emotional to come full circle to acceptance . You will do great! I would recommend you watch the 2014. Conference on the video section. Puts you at ease immediately. Great for family members also. Amazing calming video. Positive thoughts and praying for you.

Hi Lisa, it's nice to meet you! I read your story and we have several issues in common. I too had a bicuspid aortic valve, mild regurgitation in all the other valves, left ventricular hypertrophy, and critical aortic stenosis. I had my surgery on October 31, 2014 and I'm doing great! My surgeon replaced my aortic valve with a bovine tissue valve and I had an aortic root enlargement with a Dacron patch. You are welcome to read my surgery experience in my journal. It might help. Best wishes and I'll keep you in my prayers, Tammy

Hi Lisa, I wanted to join Jim and Joseph as part of your welcoming committee. Like you, I also had a bicuspid aortic valve. I hope the educational information and caring people at our website will help you through this process. If you need anything, please let me know. Keep on tickin! Adam (patient & website founder)

Linda Crawford Hi Lisa, I know exactly what you are going through. Your story and mine are very similar. Just had my heart cath on Friday and was told to take it easy until surgery in January -- I am having a hard time with that -- I'm usually very active. This site has helped me sooo much with all my questions and fears. Adam's book is also helpful. Read lots of the journals here too. Hang in there--we got this 😊
