Know that people are lifting you up in prayer.  I had double valve replacement in October 2022.  Give yourself plenty of time to heal.  Be patient.  Push just a little bit more each day. Do not give up, ever! Do not beat yourself up or feel like somehow you have failed.  These days will happen, so recognize it for what it is & you will make amazing strides.  Life after heart surgery is an adjustment.  But lean on your friends, family, yourself and God for mental and spiritual strength. Exercise your body, mind and soul.  I pray for your full recovery and a better life on the other side of this experience!

Ellen Higgs posted a note for Ben that says: Hello Ben, my husband was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve in 2017.  You can check out my story.  We were scared about the surgery and had a good team.  Unfortunately, the bovine valve failed within 3 years.  We just got out of his second AVR surgery, expanded his aortic root, repaired a dilated aorta as well as did a left atrial appendage ligation.  It was unfortunate that we had to go back and do the surgery all over again, with even more work the second time, but the medical team was amazing.  The surgery went very well and he is now 4 months post surgery.  Welcome to the group.
