I too have a mitral valve regurgitation and a fib and just at the stage for planning surgery. I too researched as I am in Anchorage Alaska. I am looking at the Cleveland clinic with Mark Gillanov, surgeon . Please post as you plan and recover from surgery as it will help relieve my concerns. Safe journey!

Your story sounds exactly like mine. I had minimally invasive mitral valve repair a little over two weeks ago and it has gone incredibly well (so far). I was out of the hospital in 3 days and have 5 small incisions on the side of my chest for the robot and one in the groin for the heart lung machine.

I am already walking an average of 7,500 steps a day and would go more but my cardiologist wants me to take it easy to give my valve time to heal.
