Hi Jean - Stay strong. Don't let the heperin issue bother you. There are other drugs to replace it and an allergy to that stuff undetected can be deadly to your kidneys. Learned lots about dialysis and kidney function from my 5 years of caring for Dick.
Keep on moving as much as you can. Every little bit helps make the next step easier. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers ---

Know you're disappointed about the median sternotomy, but when they're done her heart will be repaired. I had a bovine mitral valve and tricuspid repair in March and the healing or discomfort isn't bad. Mom will do well. Take a deep breath.
