Hi Jean & welcome to this web site. I think you'll find reading the journals of others here a big help - it was for me. I had surgery to replace my aortic valve & fix a narrowed aorta in July at the Austin Heart Hospital. It's nearly 4 months after the surgery now & I've been back to my normal life for several weeks. I wish you the very best with your surgery & recovery. Take care, Joy Vera

Hi Jean!
You know we miss you when we don't see your post. This is a fantastic website. Love seeing your happy smile in that picture up there in the corner. I know that when you are feeling better you will be back with that beautiful smile. Take care of you. Let everyone do the pampering and enjoy it. Just get better and home. We're all pullin for ya!!!! Love, Jan/NH

Jean,

Relax, let the doctors and nurses do their jobs. Then it's your job to recover and get back to us. You are dearly missed every day you're away.

Love always,

Jan

Hi Jean,

You are relativly local to me, as I reside in Keller. I had AVR surgery in May at the Cleveland Clinic. I had selected CC years ago, before I moved to the Metroplex and never varied in my choice. If I had of changed to a local surgeon it would have been Dr. Ryan, so I think you are in excellent hands.

It sounds like you are not too far away from your surgery. Adam's book is very helpful. My experience very much followed what Adam describes, but I would say mine was easier overall. I think knowing what is going to happen made it so. I think you will find from reading journals that the surgery is not as bad as many of us imagined.

Go in with a positive attitude and get as informed as possible and you should do fine.

Best wishes,

Mark
