So...you even scored a morning surgery time...couldn't be better! I,too, am so anxious for your surgery to be DONE, and you to be on your way to feeling like you can do as you please, without health concerns. WAY TO GO!

Two months does seem like a long time, but from the beginning of my journey, on December 17, until now, I've been occupied with work and researching. I needed to have consults with potential cardiothoracic surgeons, find the right hospital, and have many tests done, so the time just flew by.
My children will be making journal entries after surgery, then eventually, I'll begin my own journal entries. Thanks for the well wishes, and I'll keep you posted!

Hi Donna,
I had my mitral regurg repaired a month ago- I may have been one of the folks who said I was excited. Good for you to reach this point of positive attitude-keep it up, even in ICU-try to smile whenever you can- it not only makes you feel good, but all the folks in the hospital appreciate it as well and will treat you well. It is a simple matter of "Do unto others"

It gets better from here-yes, there will be discomfort and some pain(take your meds ahead of the pain curve) but over the course of your lifetime, it is but a fraction of time. The recup time goes quickly and you will have better weather than we had here on the east coast.

Yes, our weather is and has been much better than NJ, where my brother in law and his wife live as well.
