Hi Donna,
I am actually jealous that your surgery is so soon. I am waiting for mine on April 21. I wish you all the best for an easy surgery and a speedy, pain-free recovery. Keep us all posted.

Hi Donna,
I had my mitral regurg repaired a month ago- I may have been one of the folks who said I was excited. Good for you to reach this point of positive attitude-keep it up, even in ICU-try to smile whenever you can- it not only makes you feel good, but all the folks in the hospital appreciate it as well and will treat you well. It is a simple matter of "Do unto others"

It gets better from here-yes, there will be discomfort and some pain(take your meds ahead of the pain curve) but over the course of your lifetime, it is but a fraction of time. The recup time goes quickly and you will have better weather than we had here on the east coast.
Good luck to you, you are in my prayers
