"Four years ago I had my first aortic valve replacement surgery done at Mass General by Dr. MacGillivrey. The operation went well as did post op recovery. After cardiac rehab and six months I was back to normal.
This past spring I wasn't feeling well. Low BP readings 110/ 45 and below indicated a leaking valve. Echo tests revealed that the valve had been damaged and a second cow valve would be needed. I stayed with Mass General and Dr. MacGillivrey confident that the original failure was due to a faulty valve and not surgical mistakes. Once again all went well with the procedure and six months later I am feeling better each day, I can't express how terrific my care was at MGH from start to finish. Hopefully with a St. Jude's valve in place this time around I will fare better."
