"I want to thank Dr. Yoon for his work on my heart on August 4th, 2025. He and his team replaced my deteriorating bicuspid aortic valve with a tricuspid valve fabricated from bovine tissue (Moo!). There was the added complication of needing to resection an ascending aortic aneurysm, and this was a redo sternotomy (due to a successful mitral valve repair 25 years earlier with a different surgeon at a different hospital.)

Dr. Yoon’s bedside manner was excellent. Dr. Yoon took considerable time to explain the procedures needed. He also presented and discussed with us all the relevant imaging that further described my situation. In addition, he highlighted a few concerns which he had, but he confidently explained how those concerns are to be addressed during the operation.

Within hours of meeting Dr. Yoon, he and his staff provided an agreeable surgery date that was only ten days later. All subsequent pre-operation appointments were scheduled, with appointments tightly scheduled one right after the other. There was very little waiting around once I arrived for my appointments. Most importantly, the surgery itself was conducted on the day as initially scheduled.

My post-surgery time in Mayo Clinic hospital was six nights. I am now almost five weeks post-surgery, and recovery at home is going very well.

My wife and I are very glad that Dr. Yoon was my surgeon. I am forever thankful for him and his entire Mayo Clinic team. I can certainly recommend him and his staff for similar procedures."
