"Dr De Valeria performed a valve sparing aortic aneurysm graft of my ascending aorta and part of my aortic root. He is a highly skilled heart surgeon, recommend by his peers at Mayo Clinic and rated in the top 10% by Castle Connolly. He has performed a variety of heart surgeries and told me that he performs about 50 operations a year comparable to mine. He always took the time to explain everything to me and to ensure all my questions were answered before ending the appointment. The aneurysms had to be repaired but he laid out my options for my aortic valve: tissue, mechanical, or spare the valve as it was well functioning, as well as the expected outcomes for each. Before completing the surgery he was careful to check my bicuspid aortic valve for leakage. It was minimal post surgery but progressed to moderate leakage over the next year, but has been stable with no change for over 5 years now. I highly recommend him. "

"Dr. De Valeria is a awesome surgeon. He does not market himself he lets his patients do the talking. Fantastic outcome and even better recovery at Mayo Phoenix. He is considered "the man" at Mayo in regards to heart surgery of all kinds. I was lucky to have found him. "

"My case was difficult because of other health issues. I had pretty complicated surgery, too. I saw Dr. DeValeria several times before surgery, which is unusual; some people see their surgeons only once. But he figured it out and everything works! He also made special hospital arrangements for me because of my other health issues. I would definitely recommend him to others."
