"After the determination was made that I needed surgery I met with Dr. Rudersdorf and Dr. Mehall. Dr. Mehall conducted the procedure. Both men were extremely knowledgeable and professional.

My wife and I were very comfortable and informed of everything before, during and after the surgery. That also includes their staff and the entire staff at Penrose-St. Anthony hospital.

We have been fortunate and blessed to have these doctors and staff attending to our needs. Thank you to all."

"Dr. Mehall has a great personality. I was petrified since I had no idea my heart was in trouble and lots of doctors missed what was wrong. I was so weak it was questionable I'd make it through surgery. Not only did I make it, thanks to God and Dr. Mehall, but I've had worse pain from a papercut than this surgery. I took one pain pill and that was it. Didn't need anything for pain ever. I actually fibbed when I was asked my pain level and said 1 to 2. Actually it was O mostly. Just my opinion, but I have a feeling Dr. Mehall is probably one of the best surgeons in the country."

"I only met Dr. Mehall once on a Zoom call and briefly in the operating room before my surgery. He was very friendly and warm. Explained the procedure and recovery and made an effort to contact my wife post-op. I did not see him while I was in the hospital but I did see Dr. Patrick Rudersdorf. He was very friendly, also, and explained and answered all my question. He came to see me the 4 days I was in the hospital.

I'm very happy with the surgical results, however, I felt and looked like I was in a fight with Rocky Balboa for the next 10 days."

"My cardiologist diagnosed me with a severely leaking aortic valve, and recommended surgery. After extensive research, I noted Dr. Mehall was highly recommended. My wife and I met Dr. Mehall, and he spent a great deal of time explaining the medical issues and options...noting surgical intervention would be required sooner than later. Dr. Mehall conducted a port access open heart surgery to replace the damaged aortic valve with a bovine replacement valve. The successful surgery took place Sept. 27, 2018, and I was released one week later.

Dr. Mehall and his staff were attentive and available 24/7. If you live anywhere near Colorado Springs, I and need heart surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Mehall!"

"While I was preparing and doing some research, Dr. Mehall’s name re-emerged and he quickly became my first choice.

My wife, son, and I went to see him and he sold me on the procedure and everything that came with it. He was very honest, had a great manner, and made me feel very confident in the physician and the facilities.

Dr. Mehall was always accessible, always took the time to talk to me and he always had a great bedside manner.

As an unexpected benefit, Dr. Mehall was able to set up my family in the John Zay Guest House, a “Home Away From Home,” directly across from Penrose Hospital, for eligible patients and family members of the Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. Having my family stay at the guest house worked out terribly well, we are very grateful for that opportunity."
