"Although I am not the actual heart patient, I am the wife of a heart patient, and Dr. Sperling was the surgeon who performed surgery on my husband on October 9, 2014. Not only is Dr. Sperling an amazing and gifted surgeon, he is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and courteous. His takes his time answering your questions and concerns (regardless of how many you have… and I had a lot!), and he has a very calming disposition. Finding a surgeon who is not only talented and a pioneer in his field, but a surgeon who actually has compassion for his patients and their families is a winning combination and something I feel is hard to find.

My husband is now nearly 6 weeks post op and although he is still recovering, I am happy to report that all is well. If you are looking for an incredible surgeon, Dr. Sperling is your guy. I honestly cannot say enough kind words about him. "

"Dr. Sperling is not only an extremely gifted cardiothoracic surgeon, he is an authentic and genuine human being.

Fortunately, I was patient enough to "discover" him within 4 miles of my home as my 3rd Opinion provider. He's the one I chose to resolve the severe stenosis of my aortic valve (which could not be spared) and an ascending aortic aneurysm that had reached a diameter of 5.1 cm.

Before making my final decision to go with Dr. Sperling (he actually asks all his colleagues and patients to call him "Jason") for my surgery in December, 2012, I attended an Aortic Aneurysm Support Group Meeting where I met not only other potential recipients of open heart surgery like me but past patients who returned to hear him speak and share insights with other attendees. That experience convinced both my wife and me that HE was THE MAN!

Now, 7 weeks later, we are NOT disappointed...he delivered what he said he would and I'm now ready for 12 weeks of Cardiac Rehab!"
