Hello! My name is Dr. Alexander Sbrocchi and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from The University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2016. To date, I have performed approximately 1,800 cardiac surgeries, of which 950 involved heart valve procedures. Dr. Alexander Sbrocchi, heart surgeon, graduated from The University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2016.
Dr. Sbrocchi is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise across the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, including the treatment of acquired and congenital heart conditions. His clinical specialties include aortic and mitral valve disease, aortic aneurysms, cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, thoracic aortic surgery and minimally-invasive heart surgery.
It's important to note that Dr. Sbrocchi also has extensive experience in transcatheter valve replacement procedures including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation. He is committed to providing advanced, personalized surgical care using both traditional and minimally-invasive treatment approaches. At Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Dallas, Dr. Sbrocchi is the Co-Director of the Aortic Center. Specific to research, Dr. Sbrocchi is a member of the cardiology heart team and is actively involved as an investigator on several transcatheter valve device clinical trials.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sbrocchi has received several accolades and accomplishments including the Carolyn E. Reed teaching award at The Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Sbrocchi completed an Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery Program at Medical University of South Carolina in 2022.
