Since I first listened to “Under A Blood Red Sky” on a cassette tape in 1985, U2<\/a> has been my favorite rock band and Bono<\/a> has been one of my heroes.\u00a0 Over the years, I have learned a lot about Bono and U2 as my love for their music and altruistic spirit inspired me to see the band play live more than 20 times.<\/p>\n

For that reason, I was surprised to learn on the opening page of Bono’s new book, Surrender<\/em>, that Bono had an urgent, life-saving heart valve and aortic aneurysm surgery in 2016. Bono’s complex operation was performed by Dr. David Adams<\/a>, a leading cardiac surgeon at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and a long-time friend of our community.<\/p>\n
