I had my ct scan today. It went well, they injected a dye into my vein to see the arteries in my abdominal/chest area and get 3-d views of them. Talk about getting a hot flash! So for now I am done with testing until Monday the 5th. I have an appointment with my cardiologist tomorrow as a follow up to the cath last Friday. I am still a little sore and bruised, but glad it's over. On a happy note, got to watch my daughter at her first t-ball practice today! They are all so fun to watch!
Well, I met with the surgeon today and all went well. I have my date for surgery, Thursday, April 8th. I have one more test, a CT scan tomorrow and then I am done until Monday the 5th. That day I spend all day at Moses Cone Hospital and the Dr's office finalizing all the plans. I really like Dr. Owen, he is very personable and really cares about what you are going through. By the time he finished with the visit today, he had hit all but two of the 22 questions I had written down to ask. He was very thorough. Looks like I am having a repair vs a replacement and all should go well. Thanks to everyone for your continued support and prayers. I know that God will be watching over me.
Hi Adam. First let me say that I am so glad I found this site. I have already read your book and that alone eased my mind a great deal. I am going to see Dr. Clarence Owen in Greensboro. He was Dr. Glower's cheif resident at Duke University. He is very good and very highly recommended here. I would have been seeing Dr. Glower for a replacement, but luckily I just need the flaps of the valve repaired.
Wow, just one day in writing and already have a great support system! Thanks for all the prayers and support. I look forward to a fast recovery and keeping touch with all of you! I can't thank you all enough!
Well, so far this month I have had alot going on. On March 5th I found out that my MVP was severe enough to be fixed. I learned the shortness of breath and the fatigue and chest pain were not stress after all! The next week I had my TEE. Yesterday I had my cath, so Monday I see the surgeon. I should know then when I will have my surgery and can finally focus on getting through the rough times! I will keep everyone posted.
