Susan Lynn  Civita - Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary!!! I'm also in the class of 2017 and will be celebrating in December. Time really does fly! Glad you had a fantastic trip to Italy! Wishing you many more great adventures and celebrations!

Civita Fahey  Thank you ladies.  my trip was amazing.. hadnt been to Italy in 25 years.  way too long.. I'm so glad I got to see my aunt and uncle now in their early 90s and doing great and many many cousins.  I wont wait 25 years to go back.. Wish you all the best !

  Hi Civita, I must have missed this post as I have been dealing with my trigeminal neuralgia which is very painful and the meds I take for it make me whoozy and out of it. I am sorry to hear about your testing positive for Covid. Will pray that your symptoms stay mild and you will recover quickly. God bless you and touch you with his healing hands.

Civita Fahey  Hi guys.. I'm on day six of symptoms and day 9 of exposure. Feeling ok. really like a bad head cold. No fever, no SOB, just get tired easily. Kind of like when recovering from OHS. I've had a tough week, my father in law passed away last Tuesday ( age 92 God Bless him) and the services are this Thursday and I don't think I can go. I feel awful about it, he was a good man and I want to be there. I am going to check with my doctor as CDC told me that it would be day 10 so if I double mask I should be ok as long as I don't have any fever. I don't want to expose my mother in law of 87 years nor anyone else. I don't know about any of you but I don't ever want to hear the word COVID again..I am so done with it. I get my next vaccine on the 16th and I cant wait.. Please everyone get vaccinated, its safe and hopefully it will bring us all back to somewhat normal soon. People are suffering out there in so many ways, just from the mental stress of COVID never mind the health issues with it. thank you all for being so caring.. this is such a wonderful group to be a member of.

Susan Lynn  I'm am so sorry to read that you've been ill and that you've lost your father-in-law.

Civita Fahey  Thank you Ana. It’s the force of the blood that pushes through the heart. Again nothing to worry about now. We with a tissue valve signed up for a second surgery. Let’s pray mine is later rather than sooner.

Marie Myers  Hi Civita! I don’t even get those details anymore since i would be a worrywart also... The fact that he said “check it next year “ sounds good enough for me...I guess I am kind of an ostrich with my head in the sand...
Hope you and your family are all doing well. I was disappointed that our 45th Nursing School reunion was cancelled, but i think it was for the best. Probably not good to get a hundred old ladies all together in one room, LOL! It is planned for next year.

Marie Picun  Deeps breaths don’t worry now you gave a whole year and it could be nothing. Take one day at a time. We been through a lot and we will get scares but put it a side. If your feeling great why worry?

Civita Fahey  You guys are great. I know I shouldn’t worry. I asked if she thought the valve was beginning to fail abd age said it’s not tome to even consider that. I’m able to read the report since I have access and it did say that it’s not sure really if it’s a rise and could be I was a bit dehydrated which I could Have been. So I should just not worry. I’ll see her in November and ask a few more questions. Marie let me know when you’re coming up. Would love to meet up.

Rose Madura  Hi Civita, My theory is I'd the doctor isn't worried, neither should you. But, I do understand your feelings.

Civita Fahey  You're right Marie, I think though we will worry for ever. Knowing I will eventually have another surgery is something I need to keep in mind. I keep saying, no matter when, I did it once I'll do it again!

I am going for my cardiology checkup next week, and, like you, I hope everything sounds good on the inside. It is a little nerve wracking going for a checkup...
I hope to get up to Massachusetts in October for my 45th Nursing School reunion, so maybe we can get together if Covid 19 makes it possible. Wishing you all the BEST!

Vanessa Corwin  Congrats! My 3 year anniversary for mitral valve repair was in March--I too am doing more walking since gyms are closed--the three years went by fast. I am doing well, recently retired from my "day" job, looking forward to getting back into my former field (production) and some travel when we can. Stay safe and stay well, everyone!

Civita Fahey  Thanks all. Amy elbow is about 95%. The best I can get with the severity of the injury. But I’m not really compromised so I consider myself lucky. Could have been worse. Thanks for asking

Rose Madura  Hi Civita. I was diagnosed with osteopena last year and my family doctor put me on 1200 mg of calcium with 400 iu of vitamin D. My sister-in-law is a nurse and she suggested I call my cardiologist to ask him. Glad for her suggestion. He told me to take only 500 mg no more of calcium. Vitamin D was no issue. So I think calcium does has an effect. Hope thjjs helps.

Catie B  I researched at length a couple of years ago but don't have the documents handy. Although I have osteoporosis, I will not take calcium supplements because of this concern and the write-ups I read. I realize some professionals are convinced otherwise.

Marie Myers  I am doing the same as Rose. I for many years, I took 1000 mg calcium, but now only take 500 (or less ) if I got a food source of calcium that day. I take 1000 u of Vit D daily. My cardiologist also suggested I take Vit K also.

Civita Fahey  Thanks ladies.. I had a feeling. I was diagnosed with osteopenia..of course over 55 who doesn't have it.. so i will ask my cardiologist also and let you know too.. <3
