From what I've researched, I think you made a great decision in going to Vanderbilt. My wife and I will be praying for you as you approach and face the 15th. God be close to you and yours!

Thomas,
I know you may not remember me but I am George Eyrich's daughter (used to be your State Farm Agent). Kim also instructed me at FHS while there. I have been following your heart situation on Kim's facebook. I just want to encourage you and tell you that I will be praying for you and your family. I had emergancy open heart surgery in 2006, it went well and I am doing great. It changed my life forever, in a good way. I will praying that all the details go smoothly and that the doctors hands will be guided just perfectly. Best wishes and I will be praying for a speedy recovery!!

Hey Thomas, Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you undergo your surgery. My daughter, Tess was born with a CHD and has already had 2 open hearts at Vanderbilt as well. We see her cardiologist ever 6 months and if you seen her today you would never know anything was wrong with her. God Bless you and your family in the upcoming days.

good luck thomas! i had my avr on nov 16th, i also had a congenital defect. the sooner the better they told me. my incision is 3 inches long and i can say i had a good experience in the hospital. just remember, you will depend on everyone for weeks. i am gettting better every week but very slowly. let everyone do everything for you, seriously this is true. my daughter's school has even sent meals so my husband doesn't have to cook, and its been so nice not having to worry about feeding the kids! you will be able to enjoy xmas, just take it very easy
