You and your family have been in my prayers. Glad your doing so well. I know how much your family means to you and you to them. You'll be feeling so much better after your body heals. (Get better soon...softball season is right around the corner). :)
My mother had heart surgery in 1957. Yes you read that right. She turned blue from pheno-barbitol. Funny how much I remember from when I was 11 and I can't remember what I had for breakfast. I pray that each day will be twice as good as the day before.

Thomas & Kim, What a REAL, HUMAN story yesterday was!! Had me going there for a while. Thanking God when I got to the end! I really appreciate you BOTH posting on my guestbook at the same time. I will need your prayers too very soon and will be updating my journal later today. My wife and I continue to pray for you guys. Have an awesome Christmas with your children!
That was a really good laugh at your expense. Thanks for sharing. I've had to call the hospital myself a couple of times since returning home and while I feel silly, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Keep your sense of humor - it helps. Merry Christmas. Cheryl, Ontario
The blue hands story is funny after the cause is found. Maybe this will be your "Blue Christmas"! Elvis Presley has a song about one. Hope tonights sleep is better and that the blood pressure perks up. Recovery is such an interesting journey for everyone.
Hey Thomas. Glad you are home. I know that has to be better for you and your family. Funny story about the blue hands. Sitting in that chair recuperating. Question. Does that mean your butt is blue also??!
Welcome Home Friend!
I am very glad to hear about your homecoming. I know that the kids where very glad to have you home. Please tell Kim she is a rockstar and to let us know if we can fo anything for you guys.
My wife and I have been following your journal entries and praying for you all week. We just thank God for His healing work in your life! Way to go! We have learned a lot from what you and Kim have done this week for handling my eventual upcoming surgery. Thanks for being one of the trailblazers before me! God's best to you and your family as we celebrate the birth of Christ!
Great news Thomas! I know you and Kim will be so relieved to get back home and hug those kiddos! Here's praying for a safe trip home for you and for a continued quick recovery for you. We love you guys!
Doing the Mitral Valve Repair dance!!!!! I know you will rest so much better at home. I'm sure the kids will try to bring it down a notch for ya!!!! Job well done Thomas!!! Now, be a good patient for Kim. :)
Way to go, Thomas! You are already making great strides in the journey toward recovery. It is the perfect time of year to just relax, rest, enjoy the memory making of the holidays. Won't it be the merriest of Christmases for you to have the surgery behind you and recovery in front of you?
Continued prayers for all of you!

Good morning to you and Kim. It is so good to see the picture of you. You are looking great. We thank God for your successful surgery and trust Him for a speedy recovery. I have enjoyed being with Kacie a little and she reports that everyone is dong great at home! You have a precious family. Hugs to you and Kim!
Good Morning! Hope you are feeling less and less like a Mac Truck ran over you. Isn't it amazing how good a shower can feel when you haven't been allowed to have one for awhile. I hope you make the three lap trip today and that the weather cooperates for your trip home. No snow in our part (Pellissipi Parkway and Northshore)of Knoxville. Keeping your family in prayer.
Kim and Thomas,
I saw on Facebook that Thomas is recovering well from surgery. I'm am very happy that things went well and it sounds like you guys had a great experience at Vandy. I'm glad that Rick Briggs was able to help, as well. He is a great guy and knows his stuff!! If I can be of any help, please let me know. I don't know nothing about no hearts, but would be happy to assist in any way. Julie and I are praying for you. Get well soon.
We are continuing to pray for the entire family. I am ready to help in any way. We'll be in touch. You're speedy recovery is just such a testament to your faith and your amazing spirit. Your entire family is amazing!
Just wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of you guys. I'm so glad to hear that things are going smoothly. I know it will be a long road of recovery, but hopefully it won't be too painful or frustrating. We will continue praying for you guys. I sure hope you do get to come home tomorrow.
Have a blessed Christmas.
Kellie told me you left a message on her facebook page. Now i'm gonna need you healthy I'm thinking the US Open at Pebble Beach this year buddy. Were thinking about you and the family. I haven't had a chance to talk to you much since Augusta that was a great trip. I'm still working for AT&T but now I have the Wal-Mart account what was I thinking? With all this social networking technology you might as well have your own reality show Life with the Deakins. Haha I could be the crazy friend from Arkansas that makes a guest appearance. Take care of yourself and well talk soon.
Hi Thomas and Kim,
Technology is a wonderful thing, finally read your entries and am glad to know you're doing well. I have thought of you all often and kept praying. We look forward to catching up with you when you get home. re: green veggies and coumadin--remember it's not that you can't eat them, you just have to have consistent amounts--tell your kids the whole family must support dad and eat broccoli every day! haha
yay, yay, yay!! way to go thomas (and kim)! my lips are sealed (that song is in your head now, isn't it?) as far as the kids are concerned but i'm really happy for you! i have goosebumps at the answered prayers!
I've been reading your journal and the postings from Kim. I am so happy that the surgery went well. I'm praying that your recovery goes smoothly. I'm looking forward to when you are well enough to go to lunch - without broccoli of course!!
Jim and I are so glad that you are doing so well. Give me a call when you get home and I will run your petition around to get you qualified. Be patient because healing takes some time. It was so good to talk to you. Give our love to Kim!! Diane B. Jablonski
Kim, I know there is no sarcasm in your comment about "home being a circus" since our families are the same size and also have four rings performing at any given time! I know you both miss your little clowns terribly and we will pray that Thomas will continue to progress and hopefully be back at home by Christmas.
Praying for you as well, thanks for the updates to everyone, praying for you often.
Wonderful news! We will pray for Thomas' strength and that he will successfully make the full 3 laps needed! Continued prayers with your precious family throughout the days and weeks ahead. We will be here to support you all anyway you need.
Love, Kelly & Chad
We are so glad everything is going so well. Your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. Wade is looking forward to the day when Thomas feels like heading back to another golf tournament or at least a visit.
Your latest post about receiving blood is so true! I received a note from our favorite FPS teacher Jan Green saying she donated at the drive for Alexander - not at CUMC, but at the Medic location on Kingston Pike. The children and I are coming thru Nashville on Sunday - can I bring you and Thomas anything? Just let me know - anything big or small; even room for 2 more passengers if needed!!!! Much love and hugs to both of you!
Julie, Maury & family
I just heard about your surgery . . . I am missing the craziness of the Deakins' family without your girls in my class. You and your family our in my prayers. I look forward to your updates. Please let me know if I can do anything. I know you will have a wonderful holiday season since I hear you will be coming home a few days before Christmas. BTW, I get 'Molly fixes' in the hallway every once in awhile, usually with a big hug. :)
