So happy to hear that you are progressing well. Anybody that can even think about water skiing and running just before heart surgery has got to be strong!
Your in our prayers for a speedy recovery and comfort in knowing you are in God's care!
Steve, it's so good to read of your progress. Having gone through major surgery myself I know how "scary" it can be. Tracy and I have you in our prayers. I know you'll be safe with the loving hearts and prayers that surround you. Stay strong my friend. If you need anything at all, just ask and I'll make it happen. GSJ
Hi Steve, you have been in my thoughts and prayers during many hours over the past few days.... thank you for letting me be a part of your friends and family during this time.
I'll catch up with your journal but it seems the process of your operation has gone well... staying in love and happiness will bring your recovery to great health very soon I am sure.
I was so very glad to hear that your surgery went well. Susie came home relieved (and exhausted). The boys and I thought about you and kept you in our prayers all day. I am looking forward to the days following recovery when you can do the things you love to do. See you soon.
Dear Steve, We are so very thankful to God that you have made the first giant leap toward healing. You had to compose yourself to give up completely to God and to the surgeon's capable hands.
Family is such a blessing, and they must give you complete comfort to be there, to have held your hand. You draw strength from each other.
God guide the healing process, and get you on to your next goals of water-skiing, hiking, etc.!
Love, Aunt Marilynn Vanderhoofven
So glad to hear that you got through the day and are now on your way to a full recovery. I know your day was filled with anxiety, hope, fear and in the end relief. Denise, I have been in your shoes, and I know how exhausted you are....hang in there, and know you are loved and that we are available to help in any way at any time. Steve, your friends at the office, at 1st Global and your many clients are all praying in ernest for your speedy recovery, and confident that you will be better than ever. Do not worry about anything except the recovery process, and what the doctors tell you to do. There will be plenty of time for business matters at a later date....in the meantime, know that we have your back. I appreciate you, and will continue to pray for your complete healing and a speedy recovery. You are in the hands of a loving God, a loving wife and family, and many friends who care about you. Take care.....I will see you soon. Your friend, Steve Henderson
Thank you, Cheri, for keeping us posted via this HVJ site. I look forward to following Steve's recovery the next month or so. He will be amazed with how will he'll feel with the new valve.
I had my aortic valve replaced in July 2011 and went back to work within 6 weeks (part-time) 8 weeks full time. I've been a sports massage therapist for 15 yrs.
One piece of advice, if I may? The muscles in his upper back between shoulder blades to mid back area will call out to him depending on his pain tolerance. Make sure he gets his back & should rubs often. It works better than pain meds.
My God continue to bless Steve with a wonderful life. Merry Christmas to you all.
Those are the happiest news I've woken up to in a long time. Way to rock a surgery Steve! Again so glad, that everyone is there with you to give you strength and love during the healing process. Lots of love from HK, Jil
Steve, Denise & Family....we are so happy to hear that things are going well. You have been in our thoughts and prayers. I just saw the journal, I had called the office this afternoon and they said the family was just going in to see him for the first time since surgery. I was happy to have had the opportunity to visit with Steve last week and we discussed his upcoming surgery. I know he is really looking forward to getting his energy level back and doing all the things he loves so much. It is a great day and the good Lord is listening to our prayers. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery.

Thanks to Cheri we have been informed here at the office on how well your surgery went today. An answer to our many prayers. Way to go Big Guy of course you had the Bigger Guy upstairs guiding the hands of your Doctors. So grateful that is behind you now...let the healing begin. - Toni B
Glad to hear you're doing well Steve - will be anxious to hear about your recovery. I am scheduled for my aortic valve replacement on January 19 at the VA Hospital in Tampa, FL. Needles to say, I am very nervous - have had a heart murmur all my life and now they say it's taken its toll. Feel free to email me if and when you can. Would like to know how things are going and what to expect.
The worst is over,,,the waiting. Now on to recovery. My husband had his aortic valve replaced (bovine) on 9/14. He's 67 and by the beginning of December I would say he was almost back to normal. I found the toughest part was when he came home and every little bump in the road was a cause for anxiety but the cardiologist was wonderful. God bless Steve. He' will be fine.
I hope that your surgery has gone well. I had valve replacement surgery just over two years ago -- I had aortic stenosis related to a bicuspid aortic valve. Just want you to know that you're going to feel much, much better after this. Okay, maybe not the first week. But after that, yes!
Hi Steve! I am praying for you and for a very swift recovery. I had my aortic valve replaced February 22, 2010 by Dr. Spann's partner Dr. James Whiteneck. You are in good hands. I live here in Tulsa and I have a journal here as well. Let me know if you or your family have any questions or need a fellow valve patient to talk to.
Good luck & God bless!
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Denise, Wendy and all of your family. I look forward to seeing you re-energized and back to sharing your time and love with all of us.
Hi Mate, keep your chin up we know everything will be fine, at the end of it all you'll be a brand new man! Lucky Denise!!!Positive happy thoughts are being sent to you all the way from Australia.

I am so glad that all of your family is there to support you and Denise. It sounds like you are finding a little peace and time to reflect before tomorrow. That is really good to see and I hope the days after the surgery will be equally healing.
I will be with you and the others in heart and mind.
Steve...do not stress...you will get thru this just fine and on the way recovering quickly. You will be pleasanty surprised at how fast you start feeling better.
We are praying for you and look forward to reading more in a few days.
Just wanted you to know Kenny & I are praying for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. May God continue to watch over you and everyone that will be a part of your surgery and care afterwards.
God Bless You!
