Steve- I was wondering why your game was off so much over the past few years and now I know. Seriously I wasn't aware of this and am certain the procedure will be routine, painless and uneventful. You and your beautiful family have my warmest and most positive thoughts.

Hey Steve, we will be thinking and praying for you from all the way out here in Italy. I think the hardest part will be shaving your chest hair at the beginning and then it's smooth sailing :)) We wish you a quick recovery and wish we could come visit and can check in on you but at least we can check this website on your progress.

The site is awesome, and now you won't have to think about texting Amy H after each dr visit! Maybe you can post some post-op photos to show Nikie how vain you are not! Joking girls! Seriously, we (Kirkpatricks) wish you nothing but the best of everything now, in Vegas, during your surgery, and recovery. We are here for you, Anne and the boys next week and the weeks to follow. Whatever you need, whenever - please know we are here for you always. Please remember to text me after your surgery and let me know how it went!

All our best to you Steve. I reckon you're worthy enough to be in the club on the family secret to recuperating. The Kentucky road to recovery involves lubing up new valves with a little moonshine. Let us know when you're ready for a little backyard bar stool therapy.

Steve,
I think the minute you blew a heart valve was the day you met Anne! As much as I know you are not looking forward to the downtime, you are blessed in knowing the problem will be fixed and you are surrounded by so many loving souls. We shall follow your journal, pray and look forward to seeing you and your family soon.
Much love,

You are in amazing shape; now you get brand new valves...geez, it is hard to keep up with you. You are always one step ahead. On a serious note...
ahhh, i got nothing. Hey, with your positive spirit and excellent health (and Anne with a bullwhip) you will, without a doubt, be written about in med journals for the quickest recovery of any patient in recorded history. Keep us up to date with your lounging around for the next few weeks and we will keep you up to date on the real world. Take care, buddy.

So, I've told Anne to call me with any need, but I want to make sure that you know it too. I'm not far away and have a flexible schedule, so please don't hesitate. I look forward to seeing you as soon as you can have/want company. You'll do great, I have no doubt. And, if you weren't worthy of having an amazing wife and family, you wouldn't. :)

On January 12, 2011...
Steve,
I'm very sorry to hear you have to go through this but am positive your high spirited attitude and good shape will allow you to recover quickly. You know the Loose Change family will be praying for a speedy recovery and have nothing but love for you and your family. If there is anything we can do to help you out please let us know. I had a rough year myself last year with a 13 day hospital stay and know how trying and frustrating it can be. On a lighter note if they can do anything for your running ability while they have you out it would be money well spent. :-) Kidding!!!
Stay strong and get well quickly.
Your friend,
John Pena

Wait a minute, you have a heart? All our late night visits in Yellow Cabs looking for a Jack in the Box and you couldn't mention this to either me or Habib? I'm sure you will be in great hands and the only complication may be getting through that chest hair. They can't train for those kinds of real world scenerio's. haha
In all seriousness, I wish you the best with the surgery and keep up the great sense of humor during the whole process. As others have said, take it easy and let your body recover. Let me know if you get up to Seattle sometime.
All my best,
