Looking at the clock and thinking of you right now as well as most of your support staff no doubt. Team Steve awaits the good word. BTW Max had a couple of great goals last night and I look forward to sitting on the sidelines soon and sharing our special commentary.
We just read your buzz cut entry..thanks for the laugh. That is so like you at a serious time to make us laugh! Our prayers are with you guys this morning. Anne, stay strong and know we are here for you. Love Lindy & KeeKee
Just wanted to let you know you're in our thoughts today. You're a big, strong, and (otherwise) healthy guy, so we know you'll pull through this with flying colors!
As my mom said in Armenian right before she went in for her surgery, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." She said that's an old Armenian proverb. I told her she's been listening to too mcuh Kanye West!
Thinking of you all today! When your feeling up yo it we can arrange a show off your battle wound scar party ...know with our family and you we'd have plenty to show!
Keep smiling and laughing, it truly is the BEST medicine.
Steve - You are on the way for preop and then a successful procedure to improve you life. This morning and beyond, you will have the positive energy and love from you enourmously vast community of family and friends.
The amazing Granicks. You all are like the movie, "The Incredibles". Each of you bring your special powers and strengths to the table and with Steve as your husband and father, its like having "Thor, god of thunder as your beacon. He's the hammer thrower, the mightiest God besides God himself as your Mr Incredible. Wow. Your gonna do great Granicks. The lord is in your corner and he never gives us more of a burden than we can handle. Your all in my families prayers. God speed Thor.
I love you man. The Fellhoelters.
Hey big guy good luck on your surgery tomorrow. I'm sure all will go well. Sounds like you have the best people in your court. We will be thinking of you alot tomorrow and in the coming weeks. We will put in a good word for you with the big guy up stairs. If there is anything you or the family need don't hesitate to call. Good luck.
The girls and I send big hugs to you and Anne tonight, wishing you well. You are in my parents thoughts and prayers too. Like everyone has been saying, you are strong and have a great attitude towards it and most of all a wonderful family to help get you through. The corner needs you back soon so hurry home! XoXo - MJ
I just read your summary of the surgery and recovery period.... Just had to take note of, and voice my objection to, your characterization of ANY swimming in which you participate as ANYTHING OTHER than "light" in nature..... so, just a friendly thought as you enter the surgical arena - you know nothing other than light swimming (I'm talking about the distance, not the technique here - that's a whole different story) Good luck, Buddy!
Whoa. Hadn't heard anything in a while, and Jeff just gave me the heads up about this site.
Best of luck with the surgery. The best advice I can give from my own recent (suddenly piddly-looking!) health episode is to keep your sense of humor and stay positive. I don't think I really have to tell you that -- can't really imagine you losing your sense of humor over anything -- but it's kinda all I got. That and a whole bunch of cousin love from up north. Be strong and get better quick.
Steve...you are strong like bull, or pig. You will come out of this stronger than ever. As we have a doctor in the family, our extended water polo family, do not hesitate to call her for questions, help or support. Heck's are in your corner. dean
Steve - 100% sure that everything is going to be perfect. So you big stud....take a deep breath, know that you are loved by family and friends, have faith and before you know it....you will be frustrating goalies with your sick hezzie!
You want to have WINNER balls, WINNER robes and the WINNER brand.
Tomorrow you personally will be THE WINNER.
While I'm thinking of you, wishing it and all the best for you!
Trusting in to hear a lot of good news from you as soon as possible.
Steve and family,
We are thinking of you today and wishing you all the best! We know what a tough time this is for all of you. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Laura, Dan, Kevin and Connor Inlow
Leslie and Rob here from the freakin' great white north (better known as Boston). Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you head into surgery. We know all will be well and we love you! And hey, once this thing is behind you, you'll finally be able to keep up with everyone in the pool! :)
Keep the faith brother!
Rob and Leslie
We LOVE you mucho!!!! Don't worry about anything it's under control. Get lots of rest!! Let Anne know we have a really cool boss. If she needs us to take time of off work to help her, he won't mind at all.
You sure do have a heck of a lot of people who love you- me included! So good to see you have so much help and good wishes and prayers. I'm adding mine to the list of positive thoughts headed your way on Thursday and everyday after! Anne- let me know if I can help with driving or watching the boys or ANYTHING, seriously, I'm a stone's throw away!! Love you all :)
All of our thoughts are with you, Anne and the boys. Cheers to a successful surgery. 3 months out of the pool...ouch! Looking forward to when you get those chicken legs back into speedos (that might even get me back into the pool). You've been been a great friend and supportive of so many over the years. Now's the time to reap the benefits and make the most of your support network. We are all here for you and the family. Speedy recovery!!
You are a fighter--I have played much water polo with you, and this I know.
I hope you will recover at least as quickly as your timeline. I am trying to put myself in your shoes--I had Guillain-Barre Syndrome in 2006 (as an even younger man than you) and couldn't play water polo for 3 months as well. but i took it easy, and little by little, I regained my strength. Don't go too fast.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God bless you and them, and may all your positive energy help you here!
I hope everything is going well! I don't know if you have been in surgery yet, but I am send you and your family great thoughts!
When I first read the email I could not believe it... I was even hoping it was some sort of spam.
You have such a support group. You have so many people that care about you. If you need anything, I am here for you and you family. Even if it is driving the boys to polo or school... Just let me know.
Hang in there! I know you are tough and you are going to be back in the pool in no time.
Thinking of you daily. I know you will be up and about quickly. There are easier ways to get time off from work! Besides, you are the boss and you can take any time off you want. LOL I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Steve! We will be thinking about you on your surgery day and the recovery days following. We know you are going to do great. You are strong like bull. Thank you for including us on this post and letting us know. Positive thoughts coming your way!
Hey Steve my prayers will be with you and your family. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you or your family. I mean if there's anyone you want pulled over or taken to jail it's only a phone call away (jk). You've been such a great friend for over twenty years. I look forward to at least another 40 or at least until alzheimers sets in.
Good luck my brotha from another motha.
PS, did you know my wife is Jewish? That makes us like cousins. I knew we were related. I always said we
looked a like. Ha!
Hi Steve and Family,
The O'Brien's are on your side as always. We wish you a speedy recovery from surgery so that you can get back to your family.
You are an amazing person with the ability to do so much in this world and this is just another challenge for you that like all the others in your past you will overcome and conquer. It has been such a pleasure to know since the UCLA days and I look forward to having a few beers with you in the near future.
May God look over you during these challenging times and keep your family safe until your return.
Just heard the news. I will certainly be thinking of you and your beautiful family. As is evident by this site, you have a ton of people who are praying for you and behind you 100%. Add the Krikorian's to the list. You have always been a tough dude. This may be a bigger and different challenge but I know your attitude is stronger than anything. We haven't talked polo in a while. I always enjoy those conversations and look forward to having one soon!
