Steve,
Following your journal with interest and can see that the old Granick humor is well intact as well as your wife's appreicative take on "time". Glad you are doing well and who says the old school Bruins were wimps, you are living proof that once every decade the UCLAN's produced someone of rare strength.
Since you seem to thrive on humor I will leave you this one:
Two engineering students were walking across UCLA campus when one said,
Where did you get such a great gold and blue bike?" The second engineer replied, "Well,
I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful
woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all
her clothes and said, "Take what you want." The second engineer nodded
approvingly, "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit."
To the optimist, the glass is half full.
To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
Though your not an engineer, I think you know the glass of life has taken on a new dimension, so I am sure you will continue to live it fullest! All the best and miss interacting with you, but no longer involved on the domestic side of things (strictly International).
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

STEVO, sounds like you are hanging in there. Let the recovery begin…I think the new worry for Anne and the boys will be the rehab needed for post-recovery period to cure the addiction of being waited on “hand and foot”. Anne, may I suggest cold turkey as the best and surest method.

Steven, I'm thrilled to read how uneventful, anticlimactic and generally dull your surgery was. (Kudos to Anne's almost-live blogging, too!) Now I hope you're sitting down--
Oh, right.
Anyway, you know, with only two hours in the OR, the hospital is probably not going to validate your parking.
All in all, though, a good trade.
See you soon
