What exactly is Sarah having done and where and with whom? I was first diagnosed with prolapse in 1978 and just recently had my valve repaired in December. My diagnosis was the same; severe mitral regurge.

Dear Pam and Sarah,
I was checking out a few journals and came upon yours and had to reply. I just celebrated a one year anniversary for mitral repair surgery , and my surgeon was Dr. David Adams. He is the best and I am so grateful to him Also, I am the parent of a daughter who had open heart surgery at 20 months old for a condition called Tetrology of Fallot. She is now 24 years old and doing great. I know how terrifying it is for you all these years later I can still remember every detail. But take comfort in knowing how far they have progressed since my daughter's surgery. Your daughter is a beautiful girl, and I will pray for you. If I can answer any question, I am on this site.

Dearest Pam and Sarah,

What a beautiful journal this is!! And Sarah, Katherine and I are so very, very excited to see you, and hear all your stories and see pictures of you at the Four Seasons, and Katherine wants to do lots of fun things with you very soon. You are so very strong and we all love you so very much.

And Pam, do you know how often kids tell their parents they hate them? But we never pay a bit of attention. Not ONE bit. It rolls right off. Because we KNOW they don't mean it, and we KNOW they love us. And your father KNEW that with all of his heart and soul. But I understand. So well.

Sarah is a strong little girl just like her mom and she will come through this surgery even stronger. I love you and the girls so very much and I can't wait until the day comes when Sarah says she wants to sleep over at Grandma and Papa's house with her sister Rachel.

Hi, I literally started crying when I read about your daughter's condition and felt really stupid for yelling at my daughter for a bad grade.My sincere thoughts and prayers are with your family and Sarah. I am recovering from a mitral valve replacement . It has been 3 months since my surgery and am doing well.Please keep us posted about Sarah and please give Sarah warm hugs from me.
