Paul and I were glad to hear that all went so well yesterday. By the time you read this, all will be over and Robert will be on his way to a full recovery. Paul said that he should feel better right away because his heart will be able to work as intended and not restricted. I am sooooo happy to hear that, the future looks so good for you both. What a wonderous way to begin the next part of your time together with your family. Our prayers are with you as he begins his healing process. See you soon.

Robert,

I'm a week out and feeling a lot of the feelings you are. For the most part, I'm at peace, however I'm also human.

Keep looking forward, the to-dos can wait.

Come out on the other end strong and well. That is the only to-do that matters at this point.

I'll be praying for you.

Just want to wish you the best for your upcoming day. My this sure is a busy month.
You know its a good thing the kitchen got a leak now instead of later. Miracles happen in small ways. I will be looking for updates and prayers are out to you and Linda. Good luck.

Sound like you are doing all the right things. One last recommendation, if you are going to make any changes around the house, such as slight furniture movements or if you want to take a leaf out of a table to make it easier to get around (I'll be doing that one), make sure you do that prior to leaving!!

I'm thrilled your time is coming soon -- I'll be praying for you and following along.

Hi Rob. For me too the countdown in days is hard, as I so much want to get this over with and and be able to say "mission accomplished." You're almost there, and it's clear that you've done all the planning and homework. God bless you and your family

Hi Robert, sounds like you are keeping your spirts up. I just wanted you to know that Paul and I are thinking about you and you are in our prayers. Just think of how wonderful it will be when you come home and have the energy to do the things you have been wanting to for a long time. Then we can "Party". Hi Robert, I will keep you in my prayers. Linda sent me this site. This is nice we can email you. Let us know how you are doing. Keep your spirits up and your sense of humor, friend. My sister in law has had several surgeries for this during her lifetime. It is a lot better now and I am sure you will be much better when all is done. Laurel (Roinestad)Ogle

Robert,

You'll do well. I'm in the same boat you are minus the COPD. I've known about my valve since I was 14. Over the past year, things have started to change too much. So my surgery is scheduled for 3/20. By then, you may already be on your way home.

Post your questions here - we've all been helped by doing that, and we all return the favor for others. This is the closest knit group of people I've ever known without meeting!! With any luck, that will change in November. Watch Jeffrey Shebovsky's journal.

Jeff is undergoing the Ross procedure, I believe, right now. He has started the planning process of a Valvers Union in Orlando in November.

God speed in your recovery - I'll be right behind you.

Hello Rob,
I haven't met you - I've been introduced to your story through Linda at work. She's been a fun person to get to know, and I hope for the best and a speedy recovery for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Colette
On March 3, 2012...
Hi Robert, YES waiting is very hard. You go one day after me, so it is really close now and the days are flying by, at least for me.

I don't know about the COPD, but I am sure the surgical team is prepared for every circumstance. I think using the spirometer during recovery will probably be a high priority, more so than someone without COPD, but everyone says that is very important anyway. Even helps with back and shoulder pain.

I would say, try not to worry about it any more than is possible, we can't help but worry some, or as my pastor says "have concern, but don't worry".

Everything will be fine, let's get this over with!!!
JUST TOO DARN CLOSE!!

Hi Rob & Linda
I will be uplifting you and Linda in prayer daily. I know these are anxious days for you both. I have no words of wisdom, just my prayers, for comfort, and a postive outcome. I'll be following your journal and plan to see you and Linda in July when we spend the month of June in South Fork.

Hi Robert, Welcome to HVJ. You will find this such a rewarding place to be. It really does help and you become very close to everyone. Let the feeling flow whatever they may be. We are all here to help each other. At least you have a date and will be getting to the other side of the mountain soon. I am still waiting. Keep us all posted and good luck to you and your family.

Hi Robert, welcome to the HVJ site. It seems to grow every day. It is a great place to share questions, concerns, encouragement and when needed a great place to vent. Everyone is so supportive, we have either been there or going through preparation or recovery ourselves. I will be having aortic valve replacement on March 13th, so we are right there together. I've been told by everyone that waiting was the hardest part. Keep us updated and best of luck.

Robert, welcome to HVJ. We have all been in your shoes. Yes, it can be daunting and scary, but you will prevail and get through this. I encourage you to read the HVJ's of others, it can be very helpful. I am told my HVJ, helped many.

So glad you joined this community. It is amazing and the more you put out there the more you get back. Share your thoughts, worries, fears over the next week or so and let this community help you.

I wish you all the best,

Just try to keep your spirits high. Cry if you need to cry, laugh, and try to relax.
