I am going to heart rehab tomorrow morning for the first time. I hope you are doing well. I still am thankful for the surgery and find each day a little easier. The steronomy is taking longer then I thought. How about for you?
Hi Richard. I remember the first meal I cooked after surgery – went for the easiest thing I could make & was proud of it. It sounds like you’ve learned to step back & slow down when you need to – a valuable lesson for those of us still in recovery. Keep feeling better – Joy Vera
Richard: It is going to take time to feel normal again... Don't rush it, it will get better with time! Trust me, I know. It took me a yr. to really feel like myself. I felt fine, exoept not quite myself for a while. Leo
glad you are home and resting resting resting Now tell me when you will be back to work. Its piling up here. I added a few more jobs to the one we already contracted for. SO HURRY UP AND GET BETTER AND STRONGER
Glad you're feeling better. Did you see a direct relation to the increase in your medication to slow your heart rate and feeling tired? There's a definite link till your body regulates to having a slower heart rate. A day at a time and try judging your progress by the week, not the day and you'll really see the improvement.
Hey Richard...glad you are doing so well....but you have to be careful and listen to what your body tells you....are you walking a little? Outside, I mean...even if it's only up and down the driveway....be nice to your wife .... she's fantastic....Marikay
I hope you are feeling better. This heart surgery is so unpredictible. Just when you feel terrific...something reminds you that it isn't quite that easy. I am praying for your complete recovery. Linda Stahl
Thanks for the note! Sounds like you have had a few bumps but are doing OK. We stayed in Cleveland until Wednesday for my check up and then started for St. Louis. Enroute all things went well, except I noticed I was getting more of a rash in my lower extremities. Had a check in with my doctor and discovered that I have shingles. I am now taking medication and have not had any furtehr complications today. I will have my first check-up with my primary doctor next Tursday. Thanks for your encouragement.
Take care of yourself and DO NOT worry about Mr. McMansion. Now you will have to learn the meaning of the word REST! I know it is a new word for you I will have Santa teach you the meaning; he is an expert.
The Claus Family
Based on my experience it will take a little tome until he feels like jogging. Of course everyone is different. I was an old man when I had the valve job and 9 years older. Keep up the good work. Elliott

I always thought you were superhuman, but now I know for sure. Beware...Mr. Claus is starting to get ready for Christmas. Think the heat got to him. Great hearing about your fast recovery.

Hello Richard! Sorry it took soooo long to respond but I finally found time to get to the library and use their computer. I don't have to wish you well because I know you are going to get through this just fine. I expect a call from you when you are up and about.
Lots of love,
The Kelly girls-Cathy, Bre & Meg and Jill too!
Family, friends, childhood friends, neighbors, clients, fellow parents, folks you have never met. So many people have shown their love for you, just when you needed it the most. I could say you were lucky, but my favorite nephew named Richard, you are merely getting back the huge amount of love you have given. I know you will convert all that positive energy into helping others who lack the resources and support you have been blessed with. Now please come home already, I miss you xoxo Auntie Cori ps:Send your biggest hugs to Teresa, Jason and Mr. O xoxo

they were to have you as a patient. They must

Lots and lots of love.

Great news. Enjoyed the photos. Saw the spirometer in your hand. Make that your best friend (after family) for a while. It does make a difference. What a great success story you are for Paul who's most likely having his surgery right now. I got to meet Bill Thune (capt'n Bill) at the CC, his surgery was the day before mine. Take care.
Ya Sure a belly bull of water. I know thats all the cookies and Tassies you have been eating. Hurry back in the best of good health and lets get you back to work.
Maybe I will make you soe healthy choc. chip cookies???????Maybe.
p.s. love the zipper look down the front of your chest. Also glad the picture of you in that beautiful hospital gown = and you sitting down (you really should have put your knees together) but your LOOKING GOOD.
Richard, if I didn't see those pictures of you at the airport I wouldn't have believed it!!! OMG! Its just 4 days after heart surgery! Absolutely amazing. To say you're doing well would be a gross understatement. How about saying that you are doing supercalifragalisticexpialidocious!!!! (as Mary Poppins would say). Perhaps you're too young to remember that. Good job. I'll talk to you from home .
Love you and hello to the family.
I am going to miss these journal reports. Give Teresa a big kiss. As Tammy Wynette says, she is Standing by Her Man. And after seeing you in your hospital gown, I know that love does indeed conquer all.
