Vicki dear Vicki,
OK we are on the case:-
Kidneys working tick
Infection gone tick
Healthy heart tick
Breathing spot on tick!
These are our intentions in our prayers for Rach. Sorry you are in the bad books not getting the radio station that meets Miss Shelley's approval! Vickie, have you considered bringing in some of Rachell's own music? I know she is a Beatles fan and maybe she will respond to that in a good way. Today I am sending 'All My Lovin' to you all.

When we lived in Cambridge, I used to go fairly regularly to the local parish church. Sometimes there would be something in a service that seemed to touch a nerve, or to speak very directly to a particular need. The service would be printed on a handout. On one occasion, something particular had struck me, and I kept the handout. I just looked at it again this morning, and verses from two different hymns seemed rather apt. So, Rachel, when you wake up, I hope you will find them helpful. They are:
Lord of all hopefulness,
Lord of all joy,
Whose trust, ever childlike
No cares could destroy;
Be there at our waking
And give us, we pray,
Your bliss in our hearts, Lord,
At the break of the day.
And
All my hope on God is founded;
He doth still my trust renew.
Me through change and chance He guideth,
Only good and only true.
God unknown, He alone
Calls my heart to be His own.
With love to you all.

I am new to this site. Mu surgery (mitral valve repair and triple bi-pass) is scheduled for Thur. 12/5. I have found the story of your's and Rachel's struggles to be both heroic and encouraging. I have a strong support system around me. However, they haven't been able to share their feelings with me. I know that they are trying to protect me. Your story has brought home to me how difficult this is for them. For this I thank you. My prayers, wishes, hopes and dreams go out to Rachel and to the amazing people around her. I am so looking forward to the first post by Rachel herself. Thank you so much. Remember that by sharing your story, you are touching the lives of people you may never meet.

Thank you dear Vicki for yesterday's report on Rachel's progress, including Mr Jim Barnard's reassurances, together with his assessment of the journey ahead, and the need for patience.
Today, with Rachel, Lawson,Vicki and family especially in mind, we are focussing on this lovely poem by Harriet Beecher Stowe, with words slightly adapted to express the Christian Science thought, and set to music as a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal.
[The word "Thee" of course refers to God.]
Still, still with Thee when purple morning breaketh,
When the bird waketh, and the shadows flee,
Fairer than morning, lovelier than the daylight,
Dawns the sweet consciousness, I am with Thee.
Alone with Thee, amid the changing shadows,
Solemn the hush of nature, newly born;
Alone with Thee, in breathless adoration,
In the calm dew and freshness of the morn.
So shall it ever be in the bright morning,
When hearts awaking see the shadows flee,
O, in that hour, and fairer than the dawning,
Rises the glorious thought, I am with Thee.
We specially like the thoughts of the calm dew and freshness of the morning, and of the heart awaking to see the shadows disappearing and the glorious thought arising of being always with God.
Much love and appreciation for all the worldwide caring community's thoughts and prayers, and of course to our dear family, and Rach's, from Grandpa/Tindall and Grandma/Heather . Kisses and hugs all round,
(Lawson's paternal grandparents.)

Thanks for the latest update, Vicki. It is encouraging to read the daily reports from you all, as well as our daily contact with Lawson. Having been at the bedside on several occasions, I have seen the calm determined spirit of Rach reach out to you all and help you come to terms with the highs and lows. Maybe she has got this from Jim Barnard or vice versa!
Rach, just to let you know, when you read this, that we have been keeping up your good work with the British Heart Foundation by raising awareness and donating items. We have found their website and information very helpful. You may be aware that Habib has done voluntary work for them in the past, too.
When you recover, we are sure you will receive help and support from the Ticker Club who raise funds independently from the hospital. We have met with the Chairman and donated gifts for their Christmas Raffle, as he said this and direct donations are the best ways for them to raise funds. (If anyone else is interested in helping this cause, their details can be found via the hospital website).
We all look forward to seeing you again soon Rach.
All our love and best wishes.

The 'heart' community held us up whilst Adriana was in hospital and I know how scary it can be.
