Rachel (and family),
I don't know you and we have never corresponded. I only found out about you when another HVJ'er posted his update and mentioned you. So I checked out your journal. That was about 4 weeks ago at least. Since then I follow every day on your progress. As a fellow valve patient, (Ross Procedure 3-7-12), I know that your situation could have been mine, or anyone's.. So, thoughtI don't even know you, I'm emotionally moved by you and your story. You've done amazing and we pray for you every day. You definitely are a strong willed person and will come through this. Your family is amazing and we thank them for the daily updates and support. Please know you have everyone here (on HVJ and probably in several countries (I'm in U.S.) rooting for you). May god bless you in the New Year.

you dont know me but I too had a complicated valve replacement and wound up with 2 surgeries on top of one another and had a nasty infection also. and I am OLD (57). :) There were days I was really down but 6 months later I am doing well and feel hope and grew so much spiritually from my experiences. I learned what "one day at a time" really meant. Know that I pray for you every day as do my friends here in the states (Im from Pennsylvania) . I look for posts every day. Your family and boyfriend are amazing and have been so good at keeping your Heart surgery friends all over the map up to date. You inspire us.. keep posting when you can. Love from the USA...

I have just been reading about your Heart Valve surgery and I am SO pleased that you are doing well. I've got to say that you were always an incredibly strong-minded and determined girl and so it comes as no surprise to read how well you're coping. The amazing support that shines out in your journal is a real testament to your caring and exceptional personality. You were always highly regarded at Brockwell and one of the students from the thousands I taught over my 35 years as a teacher that I remember with very fond memories. Keep strong Rachel, you are, and will be, very much in my thoughts.

Hi Rachel - I've been following your progress on this journal for a few weeks now. I'm friends with Sheena, and joined the prayer group. The daily updates from you and your family are something I look forward to reading. Continuing to pray and hope for you. A little bit of my heart is now wrapped up in your story, and I hold my breath and smile and cry, laugh and weep at every up and down you go through.
(p.s. - I have a floppy mitral valve - do I get to join a special club or something? ;) )
