Nancy & Babs,
Praying for you all, You sure have had an ordeal. I hope that you will have no more setbacks.
I had surgery on Dec. 19th to replace my aortic valve and to repair my ascending aorta. It was done at CMC in Charlotte by Dr. Stiegel of Sanger Heart. I did not have any problems and was home by Christmas eve. I have heard of Dr. Chitwood and know that he is an excellent doctor.
Hey Nancy, I know you don't want to hear of our progress following the weekend from hell, maybe God was testing us, and we survived and so will you. We will continue to pray for you and look forward to you joining us again
.Thank you for your call and your concern, it's so like you to think of others.
Love Doris & Mercer
Hi you two, Boy, were we surprised to get a phone call from the patient! Truly amazing! Thanks for thinking of us on our anniversary. Please let us know when we can call you--do we need a new #? Hope your progress continues--slow and steady wins the race. In our thoughts and prayers. Love, Aunt Mimi
Babs & Nancy,
Sounds like Nancy is on the right track to getting out of the hospital. We know she is getting primary care and close supervision. Glad they are getting you up, Nancy. It won't be long now. WOW, 28 days!! As Madge said earlier, the FPC Tea Tasting will not be the same without you at our table.
Nancy, bet the oatmeal tasted great! Want you to continue to get a little better each day 'cause the Tasting Tea at First Pres is Feb. 11 and it would not be the same without you at the Red Hat table. Madge
Hi Babs and Nancy, hope there are no more steps backward! Praise God she is improving and just imagine how inspiring her story will be to others who fear they won't be able to handle surgery. And...I'm sure she has been a lesson learned to someone along the way! Thanks for all the updates and please keep us informed.
Glad to hear you are sitting up, Nancy. The more mobility you have wiill be better for your recovery. We don't want any more problems to set in. Babs, on Jan 5th, you mentioned that Nancy's oncologist was going to or had stopped by. Is this another doctor added to the team, and why an oncologist?
Just heard from Chris Riddle. From a recent conversation she had with either you or Nancy, it was thought Nancy would be home and that Chris was ready to help out at home. I read your most recent message to her about the setback and that she will not be home as soon as she thought. However, Chris would like to know if there is anything she can do as she has off Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri. She even offered to sit in a waiting area (no visitors) to help in any way.
You can either contact Chris direct or through a message here and I will call her.
Remember, our prayers will continue, on and on.
Nancy, I can't begin to thank you enough for your concern about Mercer with all that's going on with you. I brought him home around 2:00pm with a clean record. The doctors have no idea what happened, I just hope and pray it doesn't happen again, it scared me to death.
You will continue to be in our prayers.
Let me know when your strong enough to have visitors.
Love Doris & Mercer
I am so glad you had a good night...I am sure your Dr.s will find the right recipe for your wellness and we can call it Catbird Delight...Love and miss our Thursday chats. My prayers and blessings for a wonderful day. Love Bonnie
We continue to pray for you in our Bible study class which was this am.
I saw Ruth & Jean yesterday at Address Angels, Ruth asked for an update and told me to tell you your in her prayers. Jean is keeping up with you on your website.
My grandson, Sean was here yesterday, he'll be leaving for Afgan. the end of the month till Sept. he dropped off his dog at Diane's.
Hoping your on the right tract and will be out soon.
Doris & Mercer
Ms. Nancy, I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this, I'm starting to think you do like that million dollar view better than your neighbor...Ha! Ha!...we know better, don't we. You're in my prayers, as well as Babs and Ken. May you all be blessed and hopefully, you'll be home soon. Miss you!!! Faye
YES it is cold! Here in your sister state of SC (Hartsville) it was only 19 degrees when I got up at 7:45 this morning. I was up late last night watching football game and slept later than usual, so I don't know how cold it actually got. Hope today finds you feeling better and closer to getting out and going home. Thanks to Babs for keeping us updated. God bless and keep on climbing this mountain.
Sorry to hear you took a little setback earlier this week. I hope it has altered itself by now through prayers being offered from all over, your medical staff, and God. Rest the best you can, which is difficult in a hospital. The "FPC Angels" had a little 90th birthday party on Dec. 21st for Ruth Shoemaker. She was really surprised.
BABS, you are doing a great job keeping up with work and mom. Hang in there. If there is anything Don or I can help with, either now or after mom goes home from the hospital, please call on us. We are both doing fine now.
Love you both,
Hi Babs, Haven't been on my computer for a few days--having problems with it--sorry to hear the latest news and hope your Mom will not need additional surgery. Will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. We were hoping to be able to visit her--even though we know it would be a short one. It would just be a day trip. I'm sure you will let us know when she is up for visitors. Lots of love and good wishes, Aunt Mimi
Hi Nancy, Babs ...back for my usual check in to see how you guys are doing...I know its been a long haul for sure. I will be more then happy to come sit to keep her company, I can read and she can sleep....and get her rest just give me a call. Love to you both.
Well, Babs, I know you're worn out. Hospitals take a toll on you. Sure hope your Mom feels better real soon. Hopefully, they will be able to help her medically real soon. You all are in our prayers. Tell Ms. Nancy we love and miss her and to get well, please!!! Hurry home!!!
Hi Nancy, first off Flee, Margaret, Leah send prayers and strength to you to weather this last storm. Glad you had a decent night and prayers that today the Sun shines bright on you and your recovery...Love Bonnie and Dave
Babs, please tell Nancy that I continue to pray for her and you as well. Keep the faith, I know it is hard, but God is good and He will see you thru this. Thank you for the updates.
Hi Nancy and Babs...I was happy to hear the good news about the test...but what other surgery might they have to do? I am glad you got a picture of Angel I know you miss her and I am sure she misses you. Our love and prayers continue coming your way. Can't wait till I can call and visit again...Love Bonnie
Nancy, my thoughts and prayers are with you, praying that you will turn the corner this very night and not need any more surgery. It's time the Great Physician intervenes and I have just asked Him to do that. Please know that your fellow "valvers" past and present and soon to be future are pulling for you. Please keep us updated, we haven't actually "met" but we all "know" each other. God bless!
I'm starting to wonder if you might just have your eye on some "special" doctor over there or something, cause it's just not like you to not be coming home. You're in my prayers!!! May this new year bring you rapid healing. Hurry home!!! Babs, thanks for the updates (your expertise is very helpful). Take care.
