Kelly, I've read your journal and it seems like you've had more than your share of medical problems. But I also sense that you are a person who remains upbeat and has a positive attitude towards life. With that attitude you will come through this with flying colors. Just reading all the wonderful messages and prayers to you, you know you are loved by many. When I didn't get your post op update I hoped all was okay and I pray now that your health will improve. You will be encouraged after reading Ruth's letter to realize how far she came to overcome complications. Prayer is powerful as is God. Keep the faith.

Kelly: I don't know you but one of my friends, Sheila Garrison, does. I will be praying for you. I had an aortic valve replaced in 1988 and had complications the day of the surgery. I got past it and hope you will also.

I've just read about your condition, and have said my heartfelt prayer for you and your family - for His grace and mercy to help you heal and your medical needs carefully monitored and corrected by those caring for you. I have experienced two aortic valve replacements in the past 12 years and it's no piece of cake - and being a nurse I realize complications can not be avoided at times. For Kelly and her Family,
I am so sorry to hear of all your medical misfortune. It just doesn't seem fair. But I want you to know that I underwent heart surgery last April at the Cleveland Clinic (age 64) and experienced complications and wasn't expected to pull through. I was unconscious in ICU for 9 days, in the hospital for 4 weeks and in rehab. for 2 weeks. After the surgery I had a heart attack which then caused a stroke and had to have another open heart surgery to do bypass surgery to repair the damaged artery that caused the heart attack. Thanks to the excellent medical care available these days and my wonderful husband, I pulled through. It was a difficult recovery, but here I am alive and doing well and with no complications from the stroke. Thank God. I hope this note give you and your family encouragement and hope. As for the sternotomy, it was not nearly as bad as I had expected it to be. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sending you love and light. Ruth Howell, Maine

You are in my thoughts and prayers also. I had aortic valve replacement last Sept. I am a strong and proven believer in our almighty God. By his stripes we are granted healing. He is always there to get us through the toughest of times and when 2 are in agreement there is true power in the Lord.
I am putting you on a couple of prayer chains in our area. Stay strong in Faith in the Lord.

I am Don Henry and I had my aorta valve replaced in Feb 2000 and got an infection ( endocarditis) in my blood stream this Nov and it attacked my bovine valve and I had it replaced again on Nov 30th and this surgery was much worse than the first, but I am now 2 months post op and doing much better. I'm sorry you have experienced difficulties with your surgery and my prayers are with you for a full and speedy recovery. God Bless Don
