Hi, Judy! You have probably already thought of it, but hope you may have a few minutes to record yourself talking to your precious furbabies so they can listen/look at their mama while you are in the hospital. Anyone reading this who does not have furbabies would not understand this.

Thank you for taking the time to update this page with all of the other things on your plate getting ready for surgery. I am so thankful that the LORD Jesus led me to Ricochet's page so that I have the honor of praying for you and your family as well as for Ric and Rina. ~ prayers, Mary Roberts canton OH

Hi Judy,
The words in your February 20 journal entry resonated with me tonight. You're absolutely right: it's not okay right now. You're entitled to your feelings of worry, anxiety and depression.
You're going through so much and it's hard to be "up" 100% of the time. Sometimes it's simply hard to hear others say (in a good intentioned, meaningful way) "everything will be fine. Don't worry." Of course you're going to worry. You're only human.
I'm sorry you had an encounter with a medical professional who displayed a bad bedside manner. Guess this individual isn't THAT "professional," huh? Ric and Rina could easily teach that person a thing or two about compassion.
I could always drive out to L.A. and bring Louie with me. He's one of three chihuahuas I have. Louie has a Napoleon complex. He's 10 years old and gets grumpy easily. He'd love to get up in that person's grill. Yup, Louie may be little, but he has a big heart and no tolerance for grumpy humans. In Louie's book, he's the only one entitled to have attitude.
Sending all my love and prayers your way.

Hi Judy,
How's it going? I think of you often and your fur babies, too! I will say a prayer for you tonight as I will say one for my daughter, too. They found pre-cancerous cells and she is going in for surgery today.
Hope everything works out for you, I know you will be okay, lots of prayers coming in for you each day!
God Bless you, Ricochet and Rina.

Judy, the first thing I do when I open FB is to find what you've allowed Rici and Rina to do. Sometimes it's thoughtful, sometimes it's funny, and sometimes it's charitable. Your entries give me such pleasure. Because of what you, RIci, and Rina bring to so many unknown and unseen lives, you will get through this as well. You're anxiety -- that fear of the unknown - is normal. You are a strong woman and will get through this. I hope since Rici and Rina are certified therapy dogs they'll be able to visit on occasion Even when apart, you're in each others' hearts. God Bless All Three of You. Alice White in Phoenix

Pumpkin, MJ here. I was going to tell you what Dad told us/we experienced about his quadruple bypass and valve replacement and some artery being taken out of his leg, ew, and I got to wondering what other folks thought and found this link that is almost exactly what Dad experienced. Dad was seriously freaked out for weeks before, but only one day after because recovery went so well. He said he was more scared and freaked at the mental/visual image than actually in pain that first day. He said his back hurt worse when it went out (because he was laying around too much after surgery, lol) than his surgery. He lived a long, long time and was healthy and fit. My beautiful dad showed his scar to 8,543,222 people. But OMG was he worried and scared beforehand and we were right there with him. Never saw dad scared or my parents cry in fear right along with the five of us kids before. And all of us are right there with you, Judy. Scared, nervous, hopeful, confident, scared, did I mention scared? And holding your hand. Much love, MJ and Stan. Here's the link. p://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080211040801AAERjWn

Judy, with you all the way! You and the girls remain in my prayers, and the prayers of many, each day. We know you are dealing with some unpleasant feelings at this time, only human. But keep the positive thoughts that you will come out of this ok! You are an amazing individual with two amazing pups who do amazing things for so many! May God Bless you with the courage and strength and whatever else He knows you may need to make it thru this difficult time. - Janine

Judy,
You are such an amazing yet silent person. You speak so well through Ric & Rina for those causes you are so passionate about. That selfless attitude is being pawed back to you now with the enormous support from your adopted families. If the situation were reversed you know that Ric & Rina would fight like hell to stick around just to be with you & keep up their fabulous life. You are stronger than you think & are only given what you can handle. Im just letting you know that if there is anyone that will make it through this ordeal girl...its you! Being scared means your human...fighting through adversity without limitations means your dog:)

You're facing major surgery, but there are untold thousands of prayers going up daily for your healing. You cannot help but be totally healed with all these wonderful folks right up in God's face on your behalf! Just know we all care about you, Ric and Rina, and we will all continue to support the three of you in your various causes. Judy, One thing that has helped me through 7, yes 7, knee surgeries including a replacement and a revision is NOT measuring my progress by the days, but by the week. Once I started thinking of how far I had come from "this time last week", then I could see measurable progress! In times of discomfort, I would also go through the alphabet and think of songs that started with each letter. Also, I would try to think of scripture starting with A, B, C, etc. I also used a cd player to play very relaxing instrumental music. You will find what works for you! We continue to pray for you! Sandra Oliver, TN/GA friend!

Judy, our prayers are with you. I know the feelings you are having are overwhelming at times but your positive attitude and all the prayers will get you thru. I also wanted to tell you that my father had triple bypass and a valve replacement at age 82. He had surgery on a Thursday and went home the following Monday. The very next Saturday he attended a Veterans Celebration he had put together before his surgery. It's been 2 years now and he is doing great. I know you will do great also. Bonnie Buus

hi Judy-
i just read your latest entry- two things come to mind:
very shortly after ur surgery , you'll be able to talk to ur girls by phone. the sound of ur voice will delight them-
shortly after that you will be able to love them in person- & w/o day-to-day responsibilities- they will LOVE it so much of ur undivided attention-
& i do agree u can only deal from where u are-
one day at a time- the good news is that's how u get to the good place-
take good care-

I will be praying for you. My husband Steve had his by pass surgery 8 yrs ago and is doing very well. He has not had any problems so far. I am hoping it stays that way. You know things could have been worse for you. You could have had a heart attack and damage to the heart . With enough damage your recovery is less successful . We were both very scard before and during his initial recovery. I love hearing about your dogs. they are so very special. I told you before that I lost my golden LuLu 3 yrs ago in a fire. She was and is my soulmate. I rescued another golden by the name of Ginger. She was 3yrs old at the time I got her. Her other family did not have time for a big dog and kept her locked up a lot of the time. She is a wonderful dog and I have never regretted taking her in. I am just sorry I could not have gotten her sooner. I think she would have been a whole different dog but I love her anyway

Will be praying for you and the "fam" and looking forward to the updates to know how God is taking care of you!!! Blessings, Deb Kennedy

You are an amazing person. I love your puppy family and follow all three of you on FB. My mother had heart surgery and went thru the same anxiety, you will be fine just like my mother. You are always there for others, it is now time for you to let others take care of you for a short period. Once you are back to feeling better (which you will), you can start back to your normal schedule.
