A short word of advice, stay as busy as you can as your surgery date approaches. I scheduled my April 4th date on January 18th for mitral valve repair. Thinking that I was smarter than the average bear, this amount of time would give me plenty of time to tie up all loose ends. Well I'm retired and heavy into volunteering. However, despite all my careful planning I found myself more anxiety ridden as the surgical date approached. It was torture! If you can, get the surgery over asap.

I hope your meeting with the surgeon goes/went well and you get a good plan for what happens next. I am meeting with my cardiologist next week after a number of tests to see what next and whether deterioration in my mitral valve needs anything more than drugs for now.
