Jim & family: I appreciate sharing in this most incredible journey. Thank you. Hang tough. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Will see you back in Athens soon. Hugs to all, Jan Okey
Jim,
Glad to hear you are doing well. I thought I would share with you, that if you want to meet Dr. Adams, tell one of the other doctors or nurses. I was there a few days and did not meet him, so I asked because I wanted to thank him. He came by later that day. It felt good to express my gratitude.
Good luck!

Well done, Jim! I´´m scouting out mountains for us to climb here in NZ. Looks promising! I´m glad that everything went well and hope that your recovery is swift so that we can hit the trail as soon as possible. Love, Paul
Hello Jim and Family!
We are so happy to hear that the surgery was a success and recovery is going well. We have been keeping the Colonel posted with the journal entries!

Jim Smith Thanks! The Colonel called today and Kris noticed the call on Jim's phone which was with her in our hotel. He didn't bring it with him. She told me and I left him a message with my phone number. I figured you guys were updating him but it's good to hear it for sure.

Jim, We're thinking of you in Athens, Georgia. So glad things are going well.
Hi Jim and Donna, I just discovered your journal and guestbook via the latest Covenanter. So glad to hear how well you are doing! Looking forward to seeing you both back in Athens. Its 80 something and gorgeous outside!

Thanks for great report. I had checked several times earlier today and was eager to find out how Jim is doing. By the way, how is his appetite? Are there restrictions on what he can eat? Dave Shipley
Jim Smith Appetite not good. Junk clogging his throat and problems with lungs/breathing last night. He does breathing exercises every hour. All normal after heart surgery. Thank you for asking! :)
Jim Smith No restrictions except he's on Coumadin for 3 months and has to watch his vitamin K levels-not too many dark green vegetables and certain other foods.

Thank you for the update Donna. It is great to hear he is asking for things. :) Please let him know we are thinking about him and all of you are in our prayers.
Donna - Thanks for all the updates. Jim - Know that all your friends at the AHA miss you, wish you well and will continue to remember you in our prayers. Consider Tuesday's board meeting an excused absence. Best wishes....hope to see you soon.
Hello, Jim. I haven't posted since December. But I found your entry on my guestbook. I was on 7 West as well. The staff on that floor are the best ever!! You are in great hands. I am glad you had Dr. Adams for your surgeon. I was a complicated case of his. Good luck each day of your recovery, there will be aches and pains but everyday gets better.
Yay Jim....so glad that all went so well and you are asking for your glasses!! I had to have a transfusion after surgery too and also was on a temporary pacemaker for 2-3 days before all clicked and began to work in sync!! I know you are going to continue to do great....keep strong and before you know it you will be going home! That was the best part of the whole thing...going home and having a shower in my own house!! Blessings and hugs. Jamie Todor
Thanks for sharing this amazing journey. No "vespers" tonight at CPC but each time I'm there in past days I hear heard your remembered by those gathered. It won't surprise you that a hymn-lover like me offers "Near to the Heart of God" as my 'heart song'. Looking forward to your return to Athens, Anne P.
Glad to hear more good news. Yesterday was awsome for everyone. Now the work begins. Just let your body tell you and you will be fine. Good luck for a speedy recovery.
For the long haul
