Glad to hear the good news. Everybody just seems to get a little faster than the last person. Maybe its cause you still have all your angels around you. Keep up the good work. At least the weather is good there.

Hi Dr. Jeff,
I didn't write anything on your guestbook but was keeping up with Carol's and your posts (I had a 4-day migraine/weather related and was also out of town.)

jeff,
So glad to hear you are out of the hospital, and soon will be home. I just wanted to let you know I had issues with a fast heartbeat, in fact it caused me to stay an extra day at the hospital and continued for a while once I was released. I understand it is quite common because the heart is adjusting after severe trauma. In time, and with medication adjustments, my rate came down. I am sure yours will adjust since it is so close to surgery. I only used pain medication to sleep once I was home and settled...it did help . Good luck..you are doing great!

Hi Jeff!
So glad that things are going so well. Said a lot of prayers for you and everyone involved with you. I know you will be glad to get home and be with the family. You never know where life is going to take you and who you may meet upon your journey here on earth. Thank god for surgeons like yours and for medical studies and research. God bless you and hopefully one day we can come see you and the family in Florida or if you guys ever get to Joey's in Deep Creek.
Love to you and Carol, hugs to all of you as well!

Jeff, great news that you are sprung, and I'm glad to hear about all the positive stuff. The negative will change, rest assured. The advice from your friend about the cat naps may be sound.... I can't remember napping too much post-discharge, but then again, that was over 13 years ago! What I do remember is that over-doing (and stressing about) things led me to trouble. So please don't.... Do what you feel you can, then give yourself a break. Lord knows, you deserve it!
Waiting to hear the next good news!
Best regards,
Ken

Hello Jeff,
Great to hear you are out of he hospital. You will get better little by little each day. Make sure you are drinking enough fluid water is first choice. Sometimes your heart rate can increase if your fluids are behind. I am sure your heart is functioning much better. Check with your MD about the amount of fluids he wants you to drink each day.. Keep up the rest. If you can batch your naps to a few per day and just rest in between you might be able to sleep longer. Sounds like you are doing a lot of cat napping during the day. Not sure if the fluid and less napping will help. Youre heart is stronger and will respond much easier than before. Please give Carol our best. See you guys soon... Saunders

I'm so happy that your recovery seems to be going perfectly. I am 4 months since surgery and my resting heart rate is still sometimes at 100... So I guess that it just takes some time for the heart to heal....good luck as you progress each day, you will be in my thoughts!!

Rest up brother!!! Sleeping hasn't got any better for me and its 3 weeks post op. I did move back to my bed last night and I think I slept a little better.
My heart rate has been in the 70 and 80s. Before the surgery in was 100.
Good luck and continued success on your recovery.

You're ROCKIN that gown man.
Glad to hear you're improving and about to get out of the hospital. I'm sure that Pizza isn't far behind.
It thrills me to no end that you and a number of the others have been able to meet. I am really looking forward to some type of union/reunion to get to meet the wonderful people I've had the pleasure of meeting here.
While I'm not happy that your destiny determined you'd need this repair, since it did, I'm thrilled to have been a part of your journey. I'm also glad you are a part of mine.
Be well my friend and keep on healing.

Jeff, this is Debbie Sullivan, Chris Dixon's mom-in-law. I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am that you are doing well. I am so glad that you, your wife and Chris and Niki were able to spend some time together. Both of you have a whole new circle of friends (family?) now! I know the surgery SUCKS! I just had a small local one and every time I complain, I think of y'all. God just says,"really, Deb?" :) Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how happy I am for you and your family. I am sure that you will see Chris and Niki again! Debbie Sullivan

Well Jeff, so glad you are doing better and it's okay to say that IT SUCKS! Even as healthy and positive that you are, they did a number on you. The word invasive. Your body was violated and let you know about it. Now it is going to fogive you and get in lock step and release the natural healer to merge with outer (or inner, depending on your perspective) repairs.
You're hanging tough and soon the IT SUCKS will become past tense and lower case as in "it sucked- but man I feel great now!!"
Talk to you soon.

I see by your braver comments that you are almost back to normal.
I'm pleased to read them. Yes, you went through hell to get where you are now, but the worst is over and now you can start concentrating on the important things in life, like vacations, and spending time with your family and friends, and basically enjoying yourself. As I always say. "IF NOT NOW, WHEN???"
