Great update and impressive on the sneeze suppression!!! I am so glad all is going well for you, other than the back pain. I know what you mean on likely having more symptoms than we realized. Everyone keeps telling me I look great and have such great color, I guess I was pale before? Either that or I am some wierd color now and no one has told me and I don't see it in the mirror.
Also, although I still do get fatigued, especially now that I am back to work, I also feel like I have more energy. Hard to explain, but like you, I feel different....better! Keep up the good recovery work and tell Carol I said hi.

Jeffrey Shebovsky Thanks Mitch. I think your pink color is "fairy" nice :)

Hi Jeff, I am so happy that your recovery is going so well. 2.2 miles I am impressed!
Please proceed with caution.... do not overdue it. Full recovery is always six to eight weeks. Keep us posted.
Love to all, Margaret & Allan
Jeffrey Shebovsky Thanks! I try hard not to overdo it. How are you doing Maraget? Hope you are better

I was happy to read that you are doing so well. I knew you would, you were informed and had positive attitude. I can't complain. My recovery has been great. I was never in shape or a gym rat so walking a brisk 2 miles everyday is crazy good. I love the outdoors and have been hiking some harder terrain. I'm pleased with my increased energy. They told me to hold off kayaking for now, give my sternum more time to heal. We are blessed, aren't we? So cool to be fixed and go on with our life!! Keep up the good work. So happy for you!! Jeffrey,
Glad to hear you are doing so well.
I have sneezed a couple of times. It is very weird...sounds like a baby sneeze! I can already tell that I breathe better. Just wish the back and arm pain would go away.
Don't overdo it.

Nice poem dude. I have been traveling and had many issues along the way. I don't have my lap top and have had little access to the computer. Glad you are home and doing well.
I am also home, at least back in Florida. Look for a call, text or email from later today.
Rock on with your healing!
Jeff
Jeffrey Shebovsky Thanks Jeff. You've been a great supporter and I appreciate you.

Great Poem Jeff!!
On the lung capacity. I can agree with you there. I'm not having trouble with coughing yet and am using my spirometer religiously. I started pre surgery by getting just over 3000. Right after, I was able to get 500-750. A little over a week out, if I really work at it, I'm able to pull 2000.
When I get to the limit, there is pain, however I can manage that pain by planning how much air to bring in on each breath, or how hard to hit the limit. Never believed I'd have to think about that . . . Each day gets better.
Looking forward to your next update.

Hey Jeff! You really are doing great, and I'm so glad to hear it:) I have some good news about our team, we defeated the Old Reds 16-11!!! It was a real slugfest, with Rich Fuentes, and Gus hitting homers. Mark Pacich pitched a complete game, and had only 3 earned runs, as we committed way too many errors. Hope you can make it to a game soon, it will be great to see you! Vic
Jeffrey Shebovsky Hey Vic,
Miss the team and miss playing. Great win this past week! Hope to come to a game soon

Jeff, I am thrilled that you are doing so well - has it only been two weeks since the surgery???? I'm glad you're sleeping better, and also that you've lost the weight, if you needed it - but eat, Papa, eat!!!! And re: the lungs and cough: I remember I took great pains (no pun intended!) NOT to cough, and it's coming back to me also how painful it was to SNEEZE immediately post-op - and how I tried to avoid that too.... But this all will pass, you've just gotta be patient, and enjoy the good stuff, which I'm sure you are. Just a word of advice, and not to sound like a broken record...try to avoid any kind of anxiety at all costs. That's what landed me in the hospital again two weeks post-op - trying to find a bill that needed to be paid. RIdiculous, in the large scheme of things, but I had no frame of reference. With what you posted earlier about your elevated heart rate, you can't afford it. So keep doing the right thing, enjoy you're time off (when will you be able to enjoy this much time away from work again???), and I look forward to more good news. My best, Ken Sawicki
Jeffrey Shebovsky Ken,
Thanks for all your incredible support and great posts.

Glad you are home and doing so well, and enjoying the sunny Florida weather! I think we might stay here ;) it's 89 and 8000 pollen count back home in Georgia, but the dogwoods *are* in bloom. The weather here in your old home town has been amazing the past couple of days--over 70. We enjoyed meeting you all so much; it would be great to see you and Carol again sometime (but not under the same circumstances!!)
Take care, and take it slow :)

Jeff, so glad you are doing so much better and on the road to recovery. When you are feeling ok I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding the Ross Procedure, I am going to be talking to a few surgeons over the next week or so and I'm really interested in getting it done. What made you make that choice over mechanical, pig or cow?
I know you are still recovering but thanks so much for any thoughts.

Hi Jeff,
That is great news, you prepared well, as one of the doctor's said to you, you will pick the doctor and procedure that is right for you. You prepared well, and made good decisions.
I hope the return trip to Florida goes well!. Just remember what Mitch and many others, including me, have learned. The tortoise won the race. Listen to your body, although you probably know that better than most of the rest of us here.

Jeff and Carol--thank you so much for stopping by to see Jim today--it was such a boost for both of us, and thank you for saying something positive to his roommate too, about how it gets better--I feel bad for him; I think his spirits are low, or he's feeling bad or both, he's from another country, and I haven't seen any visitors come by to see him.
Safe travels home, and keep in touch!
Blessings,
