Hi Jean,
Keep up the good work. I know PT is tiring, but the more you do the quicker you recover<3.
And you've get a great support staff, your family is wonderful.
On January 13, 2011...
Hi Jean !
So good to get an update!! Things sound quite positive and that you're making some great progress. Keep up the good work. I know it has to be extremely tiring --- but tis still the best way to escapre and get back home!

The weather here remains cold and snowy --- and it's a damp cold that even I don't like. Just goes right through your bones -- especially when I am out in the pasture repairing the horse fence lines BRRR -- and I love winter.

Tore my MCL -- stage 1 -- damn ice --- trying to walk it off -- happened Christmas Eve and really no progress -- course it's not getting much rest either -- may have to break down and see the orthopedic guy --- ugh!

Anyway -- take care of yourself -- will be watching for more updates. We're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm really sick of the snow already. I know I know Minnesota and all but we've had enough for about 5 winters now.
Hope you are well and wonderful.

Hi Jean -- So glad to here that the move to your new facility went so well and that the level of care is where you need, want and deserve it. I remember from my days of caring for Dick how the level of care is so different from place to place. Looking forward to seeing more of Jan's posts and updating us on your progress. Take care, and work hard with those PT people!!

Hi there, Mrs. Reed. You don't know me, but I'm a neighbor and friend of your daughter, Jan, in Milton, GA. Jan told me about your surgery and sent me a link to your Journal. You are so strong and brave and are loved by so many. I am glad you are doing so well, due to your determination and strong will. Many blessings to you for a steady recovery.

Although I don't chime in often, I read each update and say a quick prayer for continued improvement and good health. It's the 30 and 40 year olds who bounce back so quickly. I also had a cardio version after my surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Prayers from FL.

You are quite a fighter, Miss Jean!!!
You have overcome so much so far, and although the answers to what is going on right now may be frustrationg, they are answers just the same. I have been so amazed at the talent, intelligence, and committment offered by all of those who deal with these medcial mysteries and seeing them solved, that I have great hope for you and your family and the choices that lie ahead.
I will continue to pray for you (the nice lady from Texas) and your wonderful family. This is the season of hope and miracles
Warm regards,

Hi Jean -- Keep on pushing forward, Woman!! Keeping you in our thoughts in prayers!!

Have lots of snow here in Illinois -- the horses are wearing their winter underwear and it's getting longer and thicker each day. My pits now wear their winter bankets outside. The Golden and the 2 Labs are in heaven rolling in the stuff. ALl the barn kitties are staying up in the heated garage far from the barn & the horse feed they s/b protecting from all those small rodents!! It was only 4 out when Bob & emerged from our coccon of blankets this AM. Once the sun emerged, it warmed all the way up to 15. Bob is complaining as always -- but this is my FAV time of the year. Love the crsip air, the crunch of snow and my sinuses working --- unclogged!! Hooray!! :--)).

Wookie finished his radiation treatments and we have a 90% shot at him being cancer free. That makes Pau;ie quite happy -- and my check book down almost 9 grand. Never thought I would have spent that much $$ on a dog!! Carrie's ruptured cervical disc is still a constant worry and keeps her from the office. So I am working 12 to 14 hour days, pluss all the scout stuff, taking care of critters, the house and grounds. I'm tired!! But can't afford to hire anyone -- and I still have to pay Carrie -- either that or have her and the 2 boys move in here ---- better to have them have their own home.

Well enough rambling -- I don't get onto the list much these days -- just posting to FB.

So get better!!!

Hugs and kisses ---

Keep up the great work Jean. If I ever need heart surgery, I'm going to Plano.
Lot of snow here this morning, so the poor horses will all have their blankies on. Today is the last day of racing for the year, so tomorrow Scott can help me put up the Christmas decorations.
Donald is in rehab, just 2 blocks from his house. They won't let him walk yet, so he's climbing the walls. His cable there didn't work the next day, so he missed the last NASCAR race for the championship. Now that cable is up and running, it gives him a little something to do.
You're both in my prayers, and as usual, Dorothy says hello & to get back home soon.
Love,
Catherine

Prayers are headed towards you. Have Jan or Pat check your email when they have a chance...I send you a special photo.
