Hi Jean. Wonderful to see how well you are doing. Surgery is next Tuesday for me, hubby's birthday (just didn;t want to bake a cake this year I guess). Was wondering if you have any advice about the ride home from the hospital. I will be riding 4 1/2 hrs to get back home. Told hubby if he bounces me off one curb, there will be hell to pay when I am recovered. Thanks, Sharon

Hi Jean: Read your journal with great interest as I am scheduled for mitral valve surgery with Mr McCarthy on 4/30. So glad you are recovering with such great speed and it gives me an idea (hopefully) of how quickly I will be back "at it." I wish you continued good healing. God bless!

I need to update my blog but thought I'd mention I had my surgery about 6 months ago and feel sooooo much better. It takes time to build up strength and stamina so just keep walking.

Hi Jean, I had my bi-cuspid aortic valve replaced last year on March 17 at Froedthert in Milwaukee. Like you, I've been followed by cardiologists since childhood. My surgery came sooner then I'd anticipated and my routine follow-up appointment turned into admission and surgery. It all went fine and I am very grateful to have it over with. I feel like I can embrace the next phase of life now( after valve replacement). I do feel better emotionally and physically then I have in years. I really enjoyed cardiac rehab! I say you deserve a few new spring outfits. Let's just hope some sunshine and warm weather comes our way ASAP! Julie S

Continue doing well and am will be looking forward to your updates.
Thanks again.

Glad you are continuing to get stronger. It is tough for "doer's" to slow down and let others "do stuff" for us.

It is a good sign that you have stepped down to tylenol and your pain is more under control. You are on your way... just take it one day at a time.

We continue to pray for you

You are doing soooo well!!! Can you believe that you had major surgery a little over a week ago? There's no reason to rush the healing process as much as you want to do so. Your body has undergone a lot in these last days; so you can expect to feel tired. This is the time to take life at a slower pace.

Thanks for the ongoing updates.

Love,
