I'm so glad you're home, dear friend!!! It was great seeing you Thursday. Aunt Betty called me yesterday to see how your surgery went and find out how you're doing. Take good care of yourself and don't overdo it now that you're back home. See you soon 😄
Thanks again, Brooke, for all the updates about Jamie. We are so thankful she is home, now and Pray she will continue to feel better every day. It will still take some time, but she can rest and recuperate in peace in her own home. Tell Jamie to keep in touch with us, so we will know her progress. We are so glad this big ordeal is behind her, now, and she can get on with her life. God Bless you all,
Shirlene and Ray
Home! I love that word. I know how good it makes me feel to read you are home, so I can only imagine how amazing it feels to you to be there. Welcome home and welcome to the other side of surgery.
I am counting my days until Feb 2 and savoring every story of recovery I can read. For now, all I can do is live vicariously through others to get distracted from my wait. The best advice I have read is measure recovery in weeks, there are sure to be some little set backs, but overall you will be getting stronger and stronger. Do the work and listen to your body. All the best, -Mitch Friedman
I know it's wonderful to be home!! Rejoice! the worst is over and you are a survivor! I will let you settle in and then come visit you when you are feeling up to visitors. Get some much needed rest. There is no rest in a hospital. The nurses interupt you every 15 minutes and then wonder why the patients are exhausted and grumpy! Rest up. The best is yet to come!
It is great to hear directly from you Jamie! Congratulations on your fantastic recovery and on-going progress. You're right, God is good, and he is watching over you. Keep up the great work. Rick Parks
So Dave wants to know if you had a cute male nurse help you with the shower?? He had a 20-something cute female aide help him. Haha!! One of his many funny stories. Y'all will have to get together to share "heart surgery stories"!
I have loved hearing your updates. I am so happy you are making progress. I know you will be glad to get back home. I head to UVA Monday for a check up. I am a little concerned as I seem to have a few strange symtoms. Keep me in your prayers. Love and blessings to you.
Thats wonderful news....this week was my %th month since my valve replacement...last night with exercise was the most stress I had put on my heart.....I survived....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR MOM..
LAS VEGAS NV
Oh yes, we ladies ALWAYS feel better with our hair clean and presentable! Especially we southern belles, lol! Great job Jamie, glad you are on your way to going home. Hope tomorrow is the day! Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.
We were so glad to get the update and to hear Jamie is doing so good, we were afraid when we didn't hear yesterday, maybe she was worse, so we are relieved to know everything is ok. If I had of had a phone number, I would have called to see about her. Hope she is continuing to do good today and that she will get home tomorrow. I am glad you got a break yesterday, I know how trying that is on the family. I don't really know you, but through these messages, I almost feel I do. You are a good daughter and the whole family has been great ( I can tell she has a wonderful family). You are all very blessed.
Love to all,
Oh, Thank God! So good to here from you Brook and boy did you deserve a day off. Tell Mom Hi, and sooooo glad she is doing so well . When Mom gets really better the Adams couple will be coming to see You-Brook and every-one. Tell Dad we love him, too. Have a Great Day! The Adams
No pressure, Brooke....you've been doing such a super job keeping everyone informed, and it's easy to understand that "no entry" caused Bobbie concern - made me wonder a bit, too..... See how much you've spoiled us!
Counting on Him to stay in control of your situation, Jamie, and positive that all is, or soon will be right back on track for you!!! While a couple of months might sound like a long time now, you'll be too busy by then to look back! Sending loads of Love from OH - Jan and Susy
I know you are doing well. I just couldn't sleep, we didn't see any Journaling so I was a little worried. So I caught up on some of today entries. I was uplifted by Kathy Snow's entry about Dave and how it took a couple of months to get his a-fib in order. I know your in very good hands. love you and sending prayeres, Bobbie
Thanks for the update text today with your cute picture! Loved the poodle quilt and heart balloon! Typical Jamie, decked out and looking good while laying in a hospital bed with a matching balloon and quilt!!! It made my day for sure. God bless you!
Great to hear about the move to0 your new room - that will lift your spirits! The doctors have all kinds of magic medicines, so we are hoping that the a-fib is a thing of the past for you now! Good news about the exercising, too! We have a little yard work that we could share, if you find yourself needing something more to build those muscles! THH ;-) Prayers following you everywhere!! Love - Jan and Susy
Sorry to hear about the A Fib.,but I'm sure they will get that straightened out with medication. Her body has been through a lot of trauma and it will take a little while for it to adjust. Glad she is in an uplifted mood, that sure helps a lot. Glad she is doing good with her walking and exercising her legs.
Keeping you all in Prayer,
Shirlene and Ray
Hi Jamie & your wonderful daughter, Brooke,
I'm so glad that you are on the road to recovery! Jamie, you are always in my prayers!
Sending lots of love & support your way my wonderful, brave, childhood friend!
Sounds like you had a little scare last night. So glad it was straightened out. It does appear as though exhaustion is normal so don't be discouraged. Get as much rest as possible and take baby steps to recovery. You are in all our prayers all the time.
I know it is disappointing when something like that happens - Dave is 9 mos out of surgery and it took at least 6 mos for the a-fib to settle down. Don't be discouraged!!! Your heart and body have been through major trauma and it takes time to settle down and heal. Remember 2 steps forward, 1 step back - God is right by your side no matter which direction you are going!!!!
Jamie, seems like you have made great progress. We are sooo happy. The power of prayer is great (you know we really do know that prayer brings miracles). You have wonderful support from your family. Do what the Doctor tells you to do!!!! We love you. We did have a great Christmas with all our family here over the Holiday season. I am amazed everytime I see Jane's family. Seems like they grow taller and taller. Love, Mattie & John
Hip-Hip Hooray your on your way. Oh! Happy Day, keep up the good work. Just think you'll be home before you know it! Yeah! Just think Jamie, look how well I'am doing on journaling. By the time you get home I'll be a Pro at texing. Well get another good nite sleep and do what the Doctor tells you. I know you will. Love, Bobbie
Jamie, you are amazing!! You are on your way girl. Keep doing those laps, and keep singing !! So glad to hear that you are feeling better. And Brook ... Good job with the wheel chair and the daily updates. Love u guys, Sue
Singing! What??? - without being in the shower? Only place we dare try - need those acoustics!
Will you be entering your 'unit' in the 4th of July parade this year?? ;-) Don't think we've had any singing units recently....
Seriously we are thrilled to learn that you are feeling so good, Jamie!! You've come so far in the past 6 days! Keep smiling - singing - and parading!! Jan & Susy
That is awesome that you were able to walk so far and you are singing. A great attitude like that will have you on that road to a speedy recovery. I shall continue to watch for Brooke's notes. Have good sleep tonight my friend.
So wonderful to hear how she is progressing and you are doing a great job Brooke.....when you mentioned big storm....Katrina flashed in my mind!!!!!We did have little rain, but would love a storm over Lake Travis!!!! Love and Blessings sent....Caroline and Marty
Jamie, Been thinking of you and the journey that lies ahead. You are strong willed and a fighter so all will be well!! God the eternal healer is on your side. don't be afraid to use the pain medication..sternotomies are rough!Love, Donna and Cassy

Thanks again for the update, so glad to hear Jamie is still improving and hope she gets to move out of ICU today. We are continuing to Pray for her and all of you. I know what you all have been going through, but it will all be worth it. God be with you and Bless You.
