What an awesome young man you are, James, with such awesome parents who have led you to love God. I pray that your recovery goes very well. I am so glad to hear the surgeon could repair your valve. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
(aortic valve repair on Feb. 28)
The peace that surpasses all understanding is with you and I can feel it. Thank you for that. I too will be undergoing open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic and it is so comforting to observe your faith - James is already experiencing one of his purposes he spoke of. GOD is good! Emilyrae Helfen
We love you guys and are praying for you. God is an everpresent help for you in time of need. "The LORD is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?" He is all you need. He will see James through because what ever He starts, He will perfect until the day of Christ Jesus. I love you so much :) I wish I could have found those awesome sweatpants at Wal-Mart so you could have had them at the hospital! ...but they were gone :( So now you have to wear that really sexy hospital robe!! YAH!!
Get better and thank you so much for being such a wonderful person!! I am lucky to have you as family!
Guess I am the first hear valve journaler to post. Just came across your journal. Reading your story and all your entries I can see you are a very special young man and one who is loved by many. Guess you could say I'm an "old timer". Had my surgery in March of 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic. A new bovine mitral valve and a tricuspid repair. You will do well as you have youth on your side. We both share an abiding faith and that will get you through. Wishing you th best from sunny FL.
Hi James, You sound like a kid who can conquer anything in this world. Your spirit will pull you through the toughest times. You are actually a couple of years younger than my son and I wish you all the best and my prayers are with you.I went through an open heart surgery 5 months ago for mitral valve replacement and can say with confidence that life is going to be better after your surgery. I hope your parents will post a line or two after your surgery.
My prayers are with you today. We can be thankful for the assurance that God is with you and your family today and that He is holding you in the palm of His hand. As we discussed on the Orchestra trip to Europe, this is the same surgery I had at about your same age. Will try to call you during the coming week.
It is 8:25 am here in Boston, you must be right now in OR. I'm an adult patient with am aortic stenosis too and a dilated ascending aorta.
